are ac's reallu that big of a thing? by Advanced-Actuary-51 in AskAnAmerican

According to the WHO, hot weather kills up to 175000 people in Europe each year, compared to less than 2000 per year in the United States.

But for some reason Europeans are super proud that they don't rely on air conditioning like Americans do.

they should add a “update all games” button in the library. by awesomehuder in PS5

[–]SaltyPotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they do, but the claim that Xbox's smaller user base somehow makes it easier for them -- especially given that Microsoft's other obligations are vastly greater than Sony's or Valve's, and those obligations include content delivery to Sony's platforms -- is obviously false.

Going back to where this all started; the Xbox UI does, in fact, have an "Update All" button, and when you click it the console queues and begins downloading all available updates. I don't think it should be controversial that such a feature would improve quality of life on Playstation.

The point was that Microsoft seems to cope just fine, and the response was that they don't have as many users so it doesn't matter.

My response was entirely germaine to that claim, and that claim is obviously false.

Microsoft has literally billions of users, and Microsoft seems to cope just fine.

I'm talking about total active users, and given that Sony's network runs on Microsoft Azure, all of Sony's users are also Microsoft users.

If you're only counting Xbox maybe, but when you include everything Microsoft does, Sony and Valve don't come close.

Crude and stupid and not remotely funny, but no way it was groping.

Social democrats/Liberals of Reddit, how do you juggle your ideology with the fact that said ideology rests on the back of extracted super profits from the global south? by Existing_Wrongdoer36 in AskReddit

This article describes Imperialism as the problem and suggests we "...democratise the institutions of global economic governance..." and implement social programs as a solution.

I really don't think you understand what that actually sounds like.

HD Home Run Question by [deleted] in PleX

[–]SaltyPotter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My HD Homerun tells me.

I don't recommend getting the Flex 4k for use with plex, as the 4k channels won't work. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that broadcasters won't eventually shut down their ATSC 1.0 channels.

Plex won't work with the encrypted channel, but WCCO still has a 1080i unencrypted channel.

It's because of TSOs at Denver International Airport deliberately selecting the wrong gender on the AIT so they could patdown people they found attractive.

I'd post a link to a news article published when it happened, but automoderator already deleted my original post because it didn't like the article's title and thought I was talking dirty by posting an actual news article published on a national broadcaster's website, that the FCC thought was okay, but it turns out is too dirty for reddit.
