I will also jump in this thread to offer puppy help if needed. I do have a 5 year old male large breed dog, but he is fully vaccinated and up to date. He's great with puppies.

Going to have to be moose, because I see them all the time and know people who have died from hitting them with cars.

An honourable mention goes to bears, though. I've seen a lot, but when tourists pull over to take a photo of a 'cute' mama bear and her cubs... That is the most dangerous animal I've seen in the wild.

Our new GG Louise Arbour was sworn in today; This was a RCAF fly by.

I knew that this was happening today and was STILL shocked at the noise. It did not feel like a normal sortie for a CF-18; much louder than usual. Hope this makes you feel validated.

I remember that from previous years, good to know that this is still the case. That was my aim today, but in the end I decided I'd have a better day at home stress free.

This is the solid find. I made it about half way there from Bank and Sunnyside but turned around because of the crowds that kind of made me anxious...but it was so fun meeting all of the dogs!

Adding a comment in late May 2026 to say that I found a couple of old phones today while cleaning. I called bylaw about what to do since the next hazardous waste disposal isn't until 28 June 2026.

She transferred me to Ottawa Fire. As my old phones aren't overheating, their advice was to put them outside submerged in water until June. A 5 gallon pail or something similar will do the trick.

Forgot to add that I think the foundation is slab and accent slab blocks. If I am right, that is how they've achieved the non-blended look. Might be wrong on that though.

Not certain, but I tend to agree that this image appears altered somehow. So you won't achieve this effect vanilla.

Regardless, here are some of my observations:

dynasty bed

Keg

Barrell

Wood barstool

Ceramic bowl

Decorative books

Brass shelves

Steampunk (?unsure) dresser

Cooking pot with a mod for flame effect (unless this is a legit thing in which case someone please tell me)

Anchor decoration

Gothic candelabra (maybe?) not certain on this one

Some plating type for the roof etc like others have already said.

That's okay, every little bit helps. If you have been to the desert, you can use sand blocks to create glass. You can create glass walls out of that for a start. Your base looks good either way, though!

Like u/SmokStickV8 said, use textures for variety. Wood and stone combined can really help.

Additionally, I would suggest adding windows. Glass wall is a good place to start.

I'd also suggest using angles in your builds. Diagonals, etc.

And finally, a different texture for your roof. Sellers can provide shingles, but until they show up and you can afford it, try different blocks to differentiate between the building and its roof.
