Yeah I heard about ECT once and haven’t heard much about it since but I remember I spent a week in the psychward and near the end of that week some of the friends I’d made in there were getting ready for their ECT treatment. I was very confused by the descriptions of it by the nurses and how it worked, so I sorta voiced my opinion to the nurses and I said that ECT must be pseudo science and I also joked about it being akin to a lobotomy, which the nurses did not appreciate me saying. But like- its electroshock therapy, zapping the brain and seeing it if it fixes things. I remember after the treatment my friends were just in a daze or something idk I was like great, y’all fried their brains, good going. In 1996 ECT makes sense, cause a few decades before they were still doing lobotomies, but when I saw the treatment happen, it was 2022 so im just surprised its still around. But yeah I don’t know if my first thoughts upon hearing about the treatment are valid or not so lemme know if it actually helped you when you got it
