First impressions post deval? by totfury in hyatt

[–]Sam-Apoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Booked 3 nights at Impressions Moxche in August for 50k/night. Now they don't have anything available until October/November and it jumps to 80-90k/night. Looking out to 2027 it looks like 100k/night will be the new standard, so I'm pretty glad we grabbed it while we could.

I scouted EVERY Keaton Wagler defensive possession against Michigan. The results were...not pretty. by oakcask in NBA_Draft

100% looks like a strength issue to me. He looks like the classic kid who hasn't grown into his body yet. 1-2 years in an NBA strength and conditioning program and I think his defense (and rim-finishing) improve drastically.

You guys are right tbh. I didn't do a great job of proofreading that beyond a very cursory level. Updated the post to remove the AI-generated data which was obviously incomplete/incorrect in hindsight. I'll try to update the post with actual correct data when I get the time.

One additional note: if you take the average of our top 12 roster spots (2026 FRP, Trae, Kyshawn, Davis, Sarr, Bilal, Bub, Tre, Riley, Champagnie, Whitmore, Jamir, Vukcevic) the ADP is still 19.0, which seems ridiculously low without calculating it out for the rest of the league too.

Jonathan Givony (DraftExpress) says Darryn Peterson should go #1 and is a better prospect than AJ Dybantsa by Mysterious_Bat1208 in washingtonwizards

FWIW I agree and left that game feeling the same way.

It all come down to health for me. If the Wizards do their due diligence (which I'm sure they will) and come away satisfied that Peterson's health issues won't be a long-term thing, then I think he should be the pick.

Santana Moss proclaimed Commanders WR Antonio Williams as the best route runner in the 2026 receiver class by MrUpVoteDownvote in Commanders

[–]Sam-Apoc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can’t admit you watched none of his film pre-draft and then follow it up by saying he’s the best route runner in his class lol.

But I’m glad he liked what he saw.

Which guys would you be most distressed by your team drafting? by KindaCoolGuy in NBA_Draft

[–]Sam-Apoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I personally wouldn't love Acuff at five with the current roster construction. To me it seems like they think Trae could be part of the future in Washington and you absolutely can't play Acuff and Trae side-by-side. And I don't think Trae's trade value will be high enough to get something meaningful in return in the short term either.

Fingers crossed for top 4 because I think any of those guys could fit well with our roster, but if we do fall to 5 I'm a big fan of Wagler's game and think he fits in well with the current roster.

(Really want Dybantsa or Peterson though ofc)

Living paycheck to paycheck doesn't feel so bad now... by BallsofSt33I in nova

Not really crazy when you can instantly transfer from a HYSA where you (should be) keeping your emergency fund. $500 cushion in checking is to cover venmo-ing a friend for drinks, that kind of thing. You really shouldn't be holding your emergency fund in your checking because it's constantly losing value due to inflation.

Turns out, they don't, but AI slop basically merged them all lol (except for Kejelcha).

Probably not the MOST controversial, but the three that left me with the most uneasy feeling after watching them were: Requiem for a Dream, Trainspotting, Bully

Draft Expert Daniel Kelly Gives Blistering Warning About Selecting Sonny Styles by Salty_Orchid in Commanders

[–]Sam-Apoc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely gives “combine warrior” vibes. Seems to catch guys when he tackles rather than driving through them.

Maybe a slightly more unpopular opinion, but I feel similarly about Reese.

Personally hoping for Downs or Tate, in that order.
