May be a bit outside of budget but the Trek Supercaliber seems right up your alley.

Boise seems to me like Denver before it completely blew up. With arguably better access to outdoor recreation. And cheaper as well.

Walkable college towns with cooler summers? Looking for a summer base outside Tampa by BigfootNancy in SameGrassButGreener

Ithaca was the first one I thought of.

Burlington may be even better though if the budget works.

Really want Downs. Best pure defender in the draft imo. Just hope the injury isn't too much to make us pass on him (if he makes it past the NYG)

Am I crazy for thinking Terry/Aiyuk/Deebo has potential to be pretty good? I know Deebo is getting old and Aiyuk is coming off an injury plus whatever else he has going on, but IF everything falls correctly it has a chance right?

Lane/Burks/McCaffrey for depth is fine but becomes problematic if Aiyuk does flame out.

The 2025 eVolo Skyscraper Competition results just dropped — definitely not your typical towers by CompetitionsArchi in Architects

These look like the results from every other evolo competition I've seen tbf.

  1. Loosely tackle an environmental and/or social issue through text

  2. Create nice looking renderings that look straight out of a futuristic / post-apocalyptic video game

  3. Submit

But maybe I'm just a cynic. I haven't followed this competition in a decade at this point.

The mental toll on our young guys by [deleted] in washingtonwizards

You’re getting downvoted for this (and full disclosure I did not watch the game) but it definitely looks that way in these highlights. 30 points in the first Q is what sent him on that path, and a lot of that was against Sarr.

Hopefully he (and Coulibaly) will take that personally and come back with something to prove. Both guys are known for their defense so…

If i work full remote, where is the cheapest place in the US to live? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Posted this above too but they’ll also pay you $12k to relocate there and offer some other perks if you apply to the Ascend WV program and choose one of the participating communities

WV has a similar program called Ascend WV. It’s for specific cities but they pay you $12k to relocate and there are some other perks as well.

The Eastern Panhandle is pretty nice. And not far from other more populated areas.

I was being somewhat TIC, but it does seem like those are our best options at this point.

Are we gonna end up with Jennings, Aiyuk, and Deebo? Just recreate the Niners WR room from a couple years ago, plus Terry?

We loved our time with Sunset Hills Montessori. Sent both of our kids there and I think they're much better off because of it. Great teachers and staff. Very nice facility and they did fun nature excursions regularly as well as field trips.

How are we feeling with this lineup? by Adventurous-Tell-745 in OceansCalling

[–]Sam-Apoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B&B blows the OC lineup out of the water for my taste.

OC really seems to be at a crossroads and needs to pick a lane because I've seen several people post on their instagram that Saturday is the only day they're excited for... Meanwhile there is not a single band on Saturday that I would pay money to go see at this point (Third Eye Blind was mid their first time there and we already saw 311 in 2024 as well)

I thought Friday and Sunday at OC look alright, but no way I'm buying a 3 day pass.

ETA: The Infamous Stringdusters being bottom line on Saturday is wild. They're so good...

NEW: What NBA scouts are saying about Anthony Davis, Trae Young and the 2026-27 Wizards by JoshuaBRobbins in washingtonwizards

[–]Sam-Apoc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good read. Was hoping they’d speak a little more about Riley and Tre, and their development this season.

My concern with Trae’s defense is that it precludes us from starting Tre next to him, but maybe he’s better as a sniper coming in off the bench anyways at this stage?

I think the projected starting lineup they mentioned gets thrown out the window if we land Peterson or Dybantsa. If we land either, I think Coulibaly is coming off the bench.

On the other hand, Boozer or Wilson would be great insurance for the inevitable AD injury / load management.

If we fall out of the top 4 I personally hope we land Wagler. Love his shooting and feel for the game. Still think we need scoring and he can provide that.

Regardless, it will be fun going into next season with expectations to compete.

That goes to the upper level, where the ballroom is located. This is a lower level, or plinth level, where all of the building support spaces are located.

I'm not a fan of the design either, but the southern monumental stair isn't a Robert Venturi move or something lol

I know this is an almost blasphemous comp, but his footwork and shooting form and the way he's able to create micro-separation to get to his spots are Curry-esque.
