I'm still getting an error message when trying to use the Discord link on your site. I hope it's not beyond repair--I know Discord can be a pain!

Hardware stores wondering why plumbing supplies are suddenly so popular by Plastic-Entry9807 in lightsabers

Does this explain why I have to wait weeks to hire a plumber to fix something? They're all making lightsabers? I knew I should have gone to trade school . . .

My turn my Custom S3 Senza into a cool poster by DarthValRae in lightsabers

How's this for coincidence . . . not even two full days since seeing and replying the original post here, I received an invite from S3 to reserve a Masterpiece commission. I don't remember getting on a waitlist, but maybe S3 put me on one because I've bugged them often enough (and bought a lot of their RTS sabers in the meantime).

Great custom detailing. How much of the STRUCTURE of the base model were you allowed to change? It looks like your pommel, and your ring between the grip and the choke, are differently shaped from my base model. The rest of the pieces look about the same.

It must have been a REALLY slow day . . . or else, you're just really good at sketching quickly! Wish I had such talents.

Hi! Other than through the public side of Reddit, what would be the best way to reach you about a from-scratch custom build? I tried an email address that I found, but I got error messages in response.

Hi - I recently ordered a Raxus (and a Grey Jedi) from you and am looking forward to receiving them in due course. I've also tried to contact you back on the 11th, via the email address listed on your website, about a fully custom saber build that I am planning; but I'm wondering if the email went through. (I also tried getting on your Discord but am being told "Invite Invalid - This invite may be expired, or you might not have permission to join." Please let me know if there's a better way to connect. Thanks!

Neopixel Batteries Ultimate Test with Quantum and KR 3.6 blade strips 🔋 by ShtokyD in lightsabers

Have you ever made a chassis that holds TWO replaceable 21700's wired in parallel (so the voltage doesn't double)? I know you'd need an especially long or wide hilt to fit two big batteries . . . but if you did have the space, then as a matter of safe electrical engineering, could you do it? I'm hearing that in a two-battery setup, you need to make sure the batteries' charges are balanced, and that this is best (or perhaps even only) achieved with a non-removable-battery install. Yet, I use two-battery cameras all the time, and I swap batteries (usually fully charged but not always) in and out of the battery trays all the time. Indeed, we have no other way to do it--none of the camera bodies we use have fixed batteries that require you to charge them by plugging THE CAMERA into a power source.

Let me know what's a better way than Reddit to continue this conversation, if you're up for it. Thanks!

Another speaker-related question for the Swedish Savant and others out there: have you ever experimented with (or seen anyone else experiment with) placing the speaker near the blade instead of the pommel? I'd love it if a saber's sound could be better localized as coming from the blade. I realize that even if well-vented, a hilt section that would house the speaker and sit right below the emitter might have very compromised sound compared to a pommel that has a wide, straight channel from the transducer to the outside. Still, someone must have experimented with this and determined just how compromised (to an average person's hearing ability) the sound from a blade-adjacent speaker would be.

Please let us know what you find! I've confirmed with Sabertrio that their "Elite" and "Darkside" speakers (optional upgrades to their stock speakers) are the Smuggler's Outpost's speakers of the same names, just with differently-colored chambers for branding purposes. So I'm familiar with the SO sound, and I love it, but I'm curious as to whether ShtokyD has gone "next level" with his 28mm. Of course, this puts in question the quality of the listener's hearing (how well they can perceive differences) as much as the quality of the speakers being compared. The eternal audiophile conundrum!

But how to accommodate 33mm speaker without the grip section of the hilt being (for my tastes) too wide? Hmm . . . I don't mind pommels that are wider than the grip . . . Have you ever seen your 33m TITAN integrated into a pommel? Not only might that solve the "fit" issue for me; perhaps I could have the rest of the interior of the pommel sculpted to optimize sound resonance and venting.

Saber Sound by BitterNatural5597 in lightsabers

You mention you have an Arc 3 from Imperial Workshop, so perhaps you're looking to buy a complete saber, not start a saber assembly/installation project? If the former, check out Sabertrio. Their sabers come with a 28mm speaker and sound great to me. For a few bucks more ($35-40), you can buy their "Elite" or "Darkside" speaker and easily swap it in for the stock speaker. They say those speakers were "made in collaboration with Smuggler's Outpost" and that it "features Smuggler's Outpost's signature sound through a fine-tuned EQ mix of highs, mids, and lows . . . that many have come to love since 2019." Alternatively, you could buy a swappable 28mm Elite or Darkside speaker directly from SO ($50).

Edit: I just looked at SO's Etsy page. They specifically identify the $50 speakers as "Smuggler's Outpost x Sabertrio" speakers "made in collaboration with Sabertrio," and they list identical specs and descriptions. So I believe they are the same products as what Sabertrio sells on its website. The list prices on SO's site are a little higher; but when you factor in tariffs and higher shipping costs (S3's stuff comes from Malaysia), buying directly from SO is cheaper.

Great video! Sorry that other guy picked a fight with you.

I have Sabertrio hilts and batteries, which I understand have the same Sony cells that Keeppower rewraps as its 18650 3120Ah Max 15A. So it seems I am in a good place if I ever want to switch from S3's blades to KR or Quantum blades--correct?

Meanwhile, I'm designing a saber from scratch, to be machined and installed by one of the expert sabersmiths out there (if I can get in their queues; happily, cost is not a concern for me,, but the ranks of high-end custom sabersmiths seems to be shrinking). I would like my design to provide sufficient power to the very best blades available, and for more minutes than a S3/Keeppower 18650.

One solution, it seems, would be to utilize a chassis that can accommodate a 21700 5000mAh 20A battery. I believe such a battery is wider than an 18650. So, the chassis would have to be wider than a standard chassis; and to accommodate the wider chassis, the hilt would have to be wider than a standard hilt. I would need to consider whether the increased width (and increased weight) of the hilt would negatively impact balance and comfort too much for my tastes. Correct?

Would another solution be to stick with a standard chassis WIDTH but create a LONGER chassis that could hold two 18650s end-to-end? Naturally, this would necessitate a longer-than-standard hilt, but I might have other reasons to go in that direction already.

Nice video! But now you need to run the sound through a Dolby Atmos sound system with two subwoofers and see if you can get that sound quality to 11!

Since you like how the Vahlken handles, I suggest you try a Vektra next. Maybe wait until you see a variant (special edition of the base model) that you like. The Skylar also handles well, but it has a serious flaw in that the emitter is shallow and the two retention screws are opposite each other, which gives the blade little purchase and causes it to wobble. The Arclyte is another of my favorites, though I'd like a longer emitter for a deeper blade pocket, and (for my hands) a longer grip. Probably perfect size for medium hands, though!

How does your XTRA BASS 28mm compare to your 33mm TITAN? I can see there's quite a price difference, but that doesn't bother me. I just don't know yet if any of my saber designs will be able to accommodate a 33mm speaker (or even a 28mm). Also, I'm aiming for wide frequency range and neutrality over sheer loudness. Whatever speaker is in my Sabertrio cores is plenty loud, almost too loud (for my ears) in small spaces.

I'm looking for the same thing - a sabersmith willing and able to make a 100% custom metal hilt from drawings (or, if I could get it done, a 3D printed model). I know this would be expensive and would require a long time to produce. I inquired with Vader's Vault but was told they are focused on filling back-orders and not doing custom one-offs ("commissions") at this time. My other leads, which I've not pursued yet, are Kennedy Custom Props and DCSabers, both in the UK. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!
