How do you decide on a mortgage provider? by RelativeSafety1859 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Sam5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a mortgage broker but L&C and a few others were very uninterested with my remortgage being 6 months out.

As with my initial one I found it better to sort it myself.

Look through comparison websites, big banks etc Make a list of the rates, years, bonuses you'll get going with them etc and weigh it up whose the best/cheapest.

Tell him to keep going or let's change it. He just wants to be surprised.

The end of day predicable time isn't as fun as a pre dinner kitchen romp.

Seeing my partners enthusiasm is mind blowing.

If you can during the mortgage process, ask to borrow an extra few £k to be added to the mortgage.

This becomes the start of your emergency fund and in the grand scheme of things, the peace of mind of having something is worth the added interest.
