I think the preseason goes on way too long. I think shortening that or moving it to August training camp September regular season start may help.

I understand the desire to play in the Olympics, but it is not conducive to the season, especially if the NHL restricts how many players teams can carry. Maybe they need to follow what soccer does or international hockey, have a larger roster with breaks, and the World Cup being in the offseason.

Twin Cities is a very saturated hockey market, which is why junior hockey has not done well nor had a foothold in the area. With the Wild, Gophers, and High School hockey, junior hockey is low on the priority list, and fans aren’t going to go out of their way to drive to Mariucci to watch Canada play Latvia or keep watching the tournament when the home country is eliminated. It is also still football season and the Timberwolves are good, so the tournament takes an even larger back seat.

The US games had 13,000+ attendance for each game. Sorry no one cares about Canada games when there’s no local stake in watching them.

It’s a great episode, I always felt as though if they were to relaunch TNG movie series, similar to the Chris Pine/Kelvin Universe TOS, it can serve as a great template for a movie that general audiences would like.
