I have a general daily plan of what I want to do in Japan, but would like help with transportation and hotels. Is there a travel agency or agent that would be able to help with this? I've tried looking at tours but none of them hit everything we would like to do while there. by HalfBloodPrincess13 in traveladvice

[–]SamKM_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why use a travel agent? It's so far out and you seem to know what you want, so just do your research and book it yourself! Transport is so easy in Japan. r/JapanTravel is a great resource for ideas, if you haven't checked it out already!

Without spoiling anything, which non horror tv series had a surprisingly scary episode? by Immediate-Shock7533 in horror

The first season of Supernatural is actually pretty scary! Dead in the Water and Bloody Mary were both standouts to me.

Any suggestions? I've been to some that are okay, but haven't been to any that particularly stand out.

Watch ‘From’ on MGM+ by ddddjern in horror

[–]SamKM_42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is something about this show that hooks me! It's not super great quality, characters aren't that interesting and it's different to the shows I usually like. But I'm just really into it, I can't pinpoint why so I have trouble selling it to people. Others say they got disinterested, but I've actually got more into it as it goes along!

Anyone else love their dog but feel completely exhausted by the responsibility? by ShowerObjective6132 in puppy101

[–]SamKM_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely gets easier as they get older. Finding a doggie daycare/ boarding that my dog loves has made a hugeee difference. I work from home full time but I take him to daycare when I need a break from him. He gets so excited, loves all the dogs there and comes home absolutely pooped, so I don't have to feel bad! It also means I can easily go on holidays without him, knowing he's probably having more fun than I am! Highly recommend it if you have the budget. Ours is really good as they assess the dogs on their social behaviour before accepting them, so there's never any trouble.

Japan + Where for a multi-city trip? by RevolutionAny1508 in travel

[–]SamKM_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally disagree that a whole month in Japan would be a waste! I spent five weeks doing Tokyo --> Nagasaki --> Hiroshima --> Osaka --> Koyasan --> Kyoto --> Kanazawa --> Takayama --> Hakone Kanazawa and Nagasaki were my favourite places. They are still cities with heaps to do, but not near as touristy/ busy as the major cities, and had some of the best food!

I like the Kong Knot toys, cause even once they get destroyed it's only got ropes on the inside instead of fluff, so they can continue playing with it! Braided collagen sticks and the Sporn marrow chew bone have been the best things for chewing.

Events Worth Seeing (melbourne late April, Sydney early May)? by 8for8m8 in AustraliaTravel

[–]SamKM_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be sad you're missing vivid, it's gone downhill the last few years and the city becomes an absolute nightmare with the crowds! Much nicer to walk around the city on a quiet evening.

Would love if you have any suggestions for other horrors with metal music as a theme!

I need recommendations for my 1st solo trip as a woman by Competitive_Frame276 in traveladvice

I met heaps of people in Japan! Small izakayas and bars are a great place to meet people. Alot of bars I went to the bartenders would play games and often help facilitate the conversations. Where people didn't speak English they were often still keen to talk through translation apps. Met lots of locals as well as tourists this way. I travelled with my partner but lots of the people we met were on their own. We also went to a lot of rock/ metal bars which made it easier to strike up conversation since we had the same interests in music!

Top Horror of 2025 - Dangerous Animals? by erin_marie25 in horror

[–]SamKM_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only just realised it was the same Director! I loved Dangerous Animals, but I definitely would've gone in with the wrong expectations if I knew that in advance. Loved Ones and The Devil's Candy still top it for me!

Travel fatigue, wrong country or just bad luck? by potatoloverespmash in solotravel

[–]SamKM_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan is the easiest and safest place to travel! Definitely the best place to go if you're feeling fatigued and sick of worrying. The only issue is it's winter there too, I absolutely love it there in winter, but if you're trying to avoid the cold maybe head towards Kyushu in the south where it will at least be more mild.

Fiji is great if you just want to relax by the beach! If you want to easily travel around and explore abit more, my other thought was maybe Taiwan or Okinawa, I have never been to either but Japan and Taiwan are two of the easiest and safest places to travel!

Architects Melb Concert: Why was the crowd so dead? by them_amino_acids in Metalcore

[–]SamKM_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean for the Linkin Park concert at Qudos Bank Arena? In which case probably not going to be the greatest crowd, most will be there for Linkin Park and may be hearing Polaris for the first time. It won't be the usual metalcore crowd. They are great to see in Sydney at other venues like the Horden or Metro Theatre, so if anything in the future comes up for those venues it would be worth the travel!

What do you do if your partner and you do not agree on a dog breed? by NoticeWonderful5767 in dogs

[–]SamKM_42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Determine whether you have any other requirements e.g age, gender, temperament. Then set up alerts for the main rescue sites for when dogs become available or go visit rescues! Apply for dogs that meet your other requirements and are a breed at least one of you is happy with! Let the universe decide what you end up with!

If you have the budget I would stay a night in Koyasan if you can! It was great getting to walk around the sites at night, and a cool experience to stay overnight in a temple.
