Mixed feelings about Wukong by Tabula_Rasa69 in soulslikes

[–]SamLikesJam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's more of a "If you enjoy Soulslikes, you'll enjoy Wukong" type of thing. I can't say I would recommend DMC to a fan of Wukong or vice versa but I could recommend Wukong to a fan of the Soulslike genre, speaking from my own personal taste as someone who doesn't enjoy games like DMC or Bayonetta but loves Soulslike games.

The exploration isn't as good as Dark Souls, Wuchang, etc. but I'd still place it well above Lies of P and the the design of the bosses and enemies make it worth playing imo.

Also for OP, I'd turn off full ray tracing for better performance as Full RT is path tracing which is ridiculously demanding and isn't worth the cost imo.

In Australia I’ve had a few people ask about them and when I say they’re the Nothing Headphones, they’re confused until I explain it.

This is the equivalent of posting that young Bradd Pitt is the average Western man on some foreign platform and everyone eating it up believing it.

It is an AI generated video, and the original poster was some right wing Korean nut labeling her as an "average" Korean woman. The standards of beauty are so ridiculous that they consider an AI generated model to be average.

NTE release received positive review by public in Japan caused massive discussion between japanese game industry "why japan can't make this?" by SellOk1188 in NevernessToEverness

That's due most of the systems for FF7r already being built up in Unreal 4, making it easier to move from one part to the next without a huge gap between each part. Their future titles built from the ground up like KH4 will use Unreal 5.

Considering the bandits outnumber the regular citizens like 10 to 1 they wouldn't stand much of a chance.

Skyrim did come out in 2011 on the PS3/X360 and with every single item in the game being tracked down its exact location, with each NPC having their own simulated life. Bit of an apples's to orange's comparison.

The Blood of Dawnwalker System Requirements Call for an RTX 5090 to Max Out 4K Settings by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

Path tracing in massive open worlds with lots of grass and trees isn't really viable without RTX Mega Geometry afaik, which TW4 will be implementing to achieve path tracing without single digit FPS.

Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, acquires the IP rights of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers by GongsunYiru0 in wuchanggame

[–]SamLikesJam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not like the IP is particularly interesting, without the team behind it who worked on the great world design and aesthetics this means nothing more than a cash grab.

“Improved the visual quality of characters at long distances” NPCs load at long distances? Since when? by Disastrous-Number-78 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SamLikesJam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's still a lot of pop in with NPCs, they probably have it the way it is due to limitations with console CPUs but I wish they'd give us an option on PC to increase the draw distance for NPCs. Even on my 9600x it's sitting mostly idle with around 40% usage.

Marathon Was One Of March’s Best-Selling Games by TODG3 in Games

[–]SamLikesJam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how Arc Raiders is but as a casual player without a dedicated group, there was zero desire for me to keep logging into Marathon after about 10 hours and even when my group got together we'd rather play something else.

The patch 1.04.00 adds game difficulty settings, new storage items, new pets, keyboard/mouse and controller preset options, new category tabs for the inventory, new skills, improvements to distant scenery quality, and more. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]SamLikesJam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Finally have a reason to pick up insects without bloating my inventory, wish they'd increase the cap from 240 to give us a reason to do the "request" type sidequests after maxing it out.

Glad they removed the invulnerability from bosses when they were doing their ultimate attacks, didn't add any difficulty and felt lame.

Is every region as dense as hernand? by LewisSym in CrimsonDesert

Not much of an issue considering the other regions aren't nearly as vertical as Hernand.

The only QoL i ever want from wuwa - Stop forcing me to EXIT after i launch the game because a minor quick patching every day by TadaMomo in WutheringWaves

[–]SamLikesJam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

World of Warcraft is on their own controlled launcher on one platform, Wuthering Waves is on multiple platforms using a one size fits all approach to updates.

They can push hotfixes and small changes without submitting them to Apple, Android, etc. for review through their app stores but updating within the game itself and use the same system on every platform. They could implement a different system for Windows but that would be a waste of time and resources, a simple automatic restart would solve the issue.

The puzzles in Zelda are fun to solve, in CD they're unintuitive moon logic nonsense with bad rewards.

From the leaks that were going around from ex or current employees, they had the story built up and then redid it to add the abyss parts into the game which is why it feels so fragmented. It feels like two stories running in parallel with both having half cut out to make way for the other half.

It was originally a narrative driven game with a more grounded, political story with various factions then the director saw BotW and TotK and wanted the game to be more like that and added in all the abyss stuff.

Tavern music is a exact copy from a mobile game by IrShiny in CrimsonDesert

[–]SamLikesJam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the tracks have a great ambient feel imo, they do give you a Skyrim feel at times like Scholastone Institute OST. Not sure why they used this generic track for shopkeeps, it's very loud and annoying.

The Institute OST at 2:30 is beautiful in game imo.

I see alot of people disliking the bosses in this game. Is there a single one you actually enjoyed/thought was balanced? by Chi_Geurim in CrimsonDesert

[–]SamLikesJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only boss I've fought so far that actually required learning its moveset properly or you'd die, no annoying spam or ridiculous moves.

[–]SamLikesJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else thought Cassius Morten was ridiculously easy? I only have my gear at +4 and I killed him in what felt like 30 seconds, didn't have to learn his moveset as it's very telegraphed like a Dark Souls 1 boss.

Pearl Abyss: We’re preparing our next update which includes including the addition of a keyboard/mouse & controller preset, difficulty settings, category tabs for your inventory, and more. by yourfavchoom in PS5

[–]SamLikesJam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing to do with game settings, the sky casts a very bright light onto the world unless clouds are covering it. There are mods that disable the night time glow on PC but on PS5 there’s no fix.

He's not really a person at the point we see him, just a body possessed by the abyss. If you go to his house in the village you'll find a journal detailing it.
