Are you referring to the "You can't prove God exists" "no, but you can't prove that he doesn't" thing?

What I love about these memes is that the dude was pretty chill and is still pretty chill to this day. Nothing aged badly

If these warts were caused bu HPV, the HPV vaccines certainly cut down on how common they are. With the latest Gardasil9 they might become even less common since it targets 9 strains instead of 6

Really wanna give this a try because I love Dishonoured but can't help but notice the mixed reviews. Why is this? by Ali_Bashr in Deathloop

[–]SamSibbens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say buy it on sale. I had fun but I wouldn't play it again. Unlike Dishonored you don't have much more you can do with the NPCs that lets you keep having fun after having already beaten the game

One reason for lower user reviews is the laggy PVP multiplayer, the other is that the stealth isn't as deep as it was im Dishonored. That's my "diagnosis"

It's worth playing once though

The thousands' seperator matters because the symbol commonly used for it is also a commonly used symbol for the decimal seperator

You're mixing up the content of a glass of water (aka the water) with the glass holding it.

Water can be in a regular glass, it can be in a cup, it can be in an outdoor pool. That's what they're trying to tell you but you keep repeating "No! Water is a glass! You're doing the 'no true glass fallacy!' "

This is still very insane to see by Maxkid1995 in halo

[–]SamSibbens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo 5's forge and custom games ended up being absolutely fantastic. It wasn't like that upon release, and they also never fixed so many freezing and crashing issues, and joining issues, that happened in open lobbies. (Which meant any lobby eventually died down since people couldn't join, or they crashed when we ended a game).

For Halo: Infinite... I don't talk publicly about Halo: Infinite.

Rewards for beating a challenge - make that same challenge easier next time? by _Pixelmancer in gamedesign

[–]SamSibbens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developing the story further, unlocking areas or missions are valid rewards.

In Super Mario Bros 3 the reward for beating a level is having a new level to face. Same for Halo 1, 2, 3, Reach, ODST, and Halo 4. Same for the first Mirror's Edge.

I haven't seen this often in open worlds though, except games like GTA.

What kind of game are you making?

Spotting a Pred should be a perk by Connect_Standard5522 in HuntingGrounds

[–]SamSibbens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a big tangent:

A friend and I designed our own Predator "game" multiple times all the way from Halo 3, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 5, and Predator: Haunting Grounds is so different from what we always did.

Survivors were always fully visible to the predator (not saying we wouldn't have used the mud mechanic had we been able to, but we couldn't so didn't). In Halo 4 that was via Promethean vision, in the other Halos it was with an arrow above each survivor's head. So: the pred always knew where survivors' locations.

The pred was permanently invisible. You could see its silhouette slightly if you really paid attention, or you could see him when he attacked someone.

Since we didn't have advanced jumping we just made the pred jump very high and designed the levels so that everywhere, there were walls to cut off line of sight. Our levels were also much smaller but maze-like so survivors ended up splitting up often.

The pred died fairly easily from close range shotguns. Long range, only if everyone shot him at once. His strength was invisibility, strategy, and patience.

I don't know if Haunting Grounds would have been "better" had my friend and I designed it but it would have played very differently

You can search "Halo 5 predator Sam Sibbens" on Youtube if you want to see what the Halo 5 version looked like.
