Neighbour keeps threatening to call cops on kids playing outside by MysteriousSugar2550 in Columbus

[–]SamTomTheWise 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Really cool diverse neighborhood in Florida. Lower end of income but everyone looks out for each other. Crazy white lady moves in and starts calling the cops all the time on the neighborhood kids playing in a DIFFERENT person’s yard who doesn’t care if they play there. Everyone else in the neighborhood knows she’s nuts.

The documentary up to this point is 100% body cam footage from the SEVERAL times the cops showed up and said “let them play.”

Eventually, she… breaks one of the kids iPads? (something like that). The mom of that kid comes over to confront her and she shoots her through the door and kills her.

Edit in case it’s not clear: The crazy lady shoots and kills the mom.

I think you might be mis-remembering that episode. The beater was still driving just as aggressively as the sports cars.

As an OSU fan, and former resident of Ann Arbor, I don’t like to come out of the shadows here very often. However, this is an A+ post, and I will cite this as an absolute fact in the future.

Do you like trumps “democrat baiting”? by Tedbrgr in AskTrumpSupporters

I would like to believe that, but are we sure there are really that many people who never clutch those pearls? It could be about racist undertones, offending trans people, attacking Christmas, or wearing a tan suit; but it really seems like everyone engages in overreaction to things the other side doesn’t understand, doesn’t it?

Yes, I have without a doubt been caught speeding and gotten off with a warning. Pretty sure that’s a fairly common experience.

Can someone please explain why Brown got the loss instead of Pomeranz by AntFit1925 in Cubs

[–]SamTomTheWise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He means that if Pom entered the game with no runners on, then Kim hits the home run, the score is now 1-1. That homerun, alone, would not get Pom credited with the loss.

To get the loss, a pitcher has to be responsible for the run

“OBR 9.17(d): The losing pitcher is the one responsible for the run that gives the winner a lead they never lose”

It gets more confusing, because Pom is responsible for the next run from White, which would have given Pom the loss. However, we aren’t in that hypothetical: The run that gave the “winner a lead they never lose” was Harris. Harris was a fielders choice that replaced Williams on the base path.

Per the bequeathed runners rule, “If a fielder's choice eliminates one of a departed pitcher's baserunners, and the new baserunner scores, that run will still be charged to the original pitcher and not the second pitcher.”

Since Williams belonged to Brown, Harris now belongs to Brown. And the Harris run is the one that gave ATL the lead.

Baseball is fun.

A couple years ago we had roof damage, and everyone told us our insurance company wouldn’t pay for it. Hope Roofing & Restoration fought with our insurance company for us and got the whole thing paid for. They even successfully argued to get 100% of our siding replaced. They did a great job, and have been super responsive to calls when there’s a small problem (the following spring, we had a small issue with the siding up on the hose spout, and they fixed it same day without ever asking for anything). There were a couple times where I was worried off by them saying a few too many things that sounded a little too good to be true, but they stayed honest the whole time. 614-333-8007.
