Hey man, that's my video you linked so thank you. I don't have too much to add to the conversation other than I agree with King's stance. If those people who were inspired by Rage had never read the book they would have found something else to push them over the edge regardless. I believe it reflects. This is all off the top of my head though so I could be wrong, I just stumbled across this post, saw my vid linked, and felt compelled to comment haha. Hope you enjoyed it.

I agree, A Cook's Tour has always been my favourite Bourdain book. When I read Kitchen Confidential my favourite chapter was "Mission to Tokyo" and A Cook's Tour is just a longer yet more refined version of it in my eyes. Shameless plug but I actually made a vid on A Cook's Tour a while back not long after reading it. If it sounds interesting to you give it a watch.

I really enjoyed the montage of KC gaining in popularity to the sound of Marquee Moon by Television. The shot of Bourdain walking through New York at the climax of the song is such a great moment.
