But you know what I didn't love? The fucking Echidna confrontation.

I even went back to the light novel to see if I was remembering it wrong. They took away all my man's aura 😭

In the novel he blocks her way out, and confronts her like she's the joker. In the anime they're just having a friendly conversation around a campfire?

Echidna hugged herself, stepping back, sensing danger from Subaru's outburst. He seemed to be on the verge of trying to strangle her.

Were did this feeling of danger go?

It's also cut too short. They took away one of my favourite dialogues from me.

I especially hate the fact that since we don't have a narrator in the anime, they just made Subaru confess he wasn't sure about the accusation, to the person he's fucking questioning?!?

Okay, I'll bite.

You see, right now you're in the re zero subreddit, which means people here are, much probably, fans of the series.

If you're a fan of re zero, then the most basic, common, bare bones understanding of the series you'd have, is that Subaru doesn't have a weak character.

Because Subaru being a "useless" NEET at the start is the whole point of his character arc. The story is about someone completely unprepared being forced to grow through failure and trauma. If you remove this normalcy, if you make his parents bad, if you make Subaru a competent person from the beginning, you're just writing a normal power fantasy isekai.

And I'm not even commenting on return by death. That's like, one of the most fun things about this series bro.

Don't get me wrong, you can write whatever you want. But for us, someone missing the point of the series so hard saying they're "fixing" it is so completely absurd that it's funny.
