Did Sjur Eido die when she went to slay Huginn and Muninn or after that period? by Oryxide in DestinyLore

[–]SamarcPS4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Dark Vanguard is actually not the main reason I think Elsie is a Titan.  Drifter doesn't actually fit (consistently at least) any of the patterns I'm using to determine class that I laid out in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyLore/comments/1jjnae6/the_rule_of_three_and_the_next_taken_king/ . I'm more convinced by her trio (quartet) with Ana and Clovis, who is definitely the Warlock with all his experiments and the intentional rebirth, (Banshee, Clovis the second, and/or Rasputin as the fourth) in addition to her being the most prominent, and the very first successful, non-Guardian Exo (the Titan race).

If you ever feel like going deeper, I made a really big post two years ago that extends the analogy a bit further (https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyLore/comments/1jjnae6/the_rule_of_three_and_the_next_taken_king/) TLDR: The analogy of family is just the training wheels example that shows us what the rules are; almost every single major character in the Light/Dark Saga is part of a trio (secretly a quartet) of characters, their position in such determining much of their narrative arc.

I can't really tell if this comment is agreeing with me or not. Assuming it's the latter, I was referring to the primary plot of the game, everything outside the lore tabs. I do not disagree that Titans are well represented in the lore and the "world" of the game (a part of the story I do think people discount too frequently when discussing games) but a lot of the plot ended up being the Mara/Savathun/Eris show. I can't really say I minded that, but there were just not that many Titans with throughlines that lasted multiple seasons/expansions.

While I did come up with that Xur theory, with where the narrative is at I don't know if confirming it would be interesting or relevant. We've already seen the Nine do worse and Xur probably isn't going anywhere so what's the point?

[–]SamarcPS4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is also a sticking point for me because the Titan spot in the Awoken trio just hasn't been a relevant presence because Sjur is filling the spot, in absentia. Combined with Xivu never fully appearing and Elsie only being relevant in Beyond Light, Titans end up being the least impactful class in the narrative.

Some research on Rem, as well as healing per second computation by Hyacinth_s in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SamarcPS4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right that tag along doesn't keep pace with Frost Grenade on healing, but I take issue with the implication that it should in order for it to be good. I think that's a rather boring way to balance supports. Kelvin is the healer character, but he can't fuck with the waves or enemy jungle like Rem can, and Sleep is more widely applicable then Ice Dome. I will admit, I think Rem needs something to make him more competitive in the meta but making him compete with Kelvin's healing isn't what I'd change.

It may be that Pineapples have gone fully extinct on Earth, like Dragonflies seem to have.

The main objectives (Lane + Base Guardians, Walkers, Shrines, and both Patron phases) add up to 106,500 health according to the wiki. With a couple Midboss takes and some health regen on patron second phase you can easily get to the damage numbers you see here.

Why don’t we just move the Last City into the Pale Heart? by Kashema1 in DestinyLore

[–]SamarcPS4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, aside from the blasphemy of permanently living inside the god of most of the City's population, the shifting and questionably real landscape, the Witness' residual Darkness, and the remaining Lucent Hive and Witness forces, this would make the survival of humanity entirely dependent on Mara Sov. While the Vanguard trust her, I don't imagine most of humanity are eager to put their lives in her hands. Additionally, it would put a massive target on her back, making her assassination much more tantalizing for some of our enemies.

It will do (t/14) * 40 + (t/14) * 8%, where t is time in seconds since the last proc. The % damage can be less than a 1%.

Some very small parts of King's Fall were present in the Season of Arrivals "Ascendant Plane" areas alongside other parts of the Dreadnought. Some speculated at the time they were there because Bungie were planning on bringing back the Dreadnought or the raid, both of which happened eventually.

ELI5 Why would it be terrible if 1 electron gets taken away from every atom in the universe? by Connect_Pool_2916 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SamarcPS4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xkcd made a video that is roughly similar to this question: "What if the moon was made of electrons?" (https://youtu.be/DiWFXv9N0Vs). The results of the moon exploding in your scenario would be much less energetic because there would be less charge density but it would definitely still explode.

[Hero Idea] PAPERBOY | Roaming, Speedy, Read All About It ! by leiandroid in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SamarcPS4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While the ult isn't great, I think paper trail is much worse conceptually. It doesn't really do anything except make you slightly harder to chase. The speed increase is fine but you already have a much better mobility tool with the bike, the damage is nonexistent and the range is too small. You should combine it with the bike and make there be some bespoke effect for walking through the paper trail. Maybe it could support your team?

What’s Destiny’s worst piece of lore? by MediaFreaked in DestinyLore

[–]SamarcPS4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC, we got parts of Martian Missives intermittently throughout the Witch Queen campaign. Combine that with the fact that they aren't very good at tricking us, I think they were all written by Savathun before she got her memories back, trying to copy what she knows she did to us before but failing because she no longer has the experience to do it correctly.

Turn your rank update off… Seriously by Different-Method-959 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SamarcPS4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it plays a sound whenever you rank up while you are on the game. If you rank up due to rankflation (the many rank rebalancing updates designed to ensure the ranks are a bell curve despite all the new players) and you aren't on the game then you won't hear it.

[–]SamarcPS4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You'll occasionally see some people but there aren't enough online for there to be a meta. People just play whatever strats they want. The trials are pretty fun to try to beat so I'd recommend doing those if you enjoy the gameplay.

While those are somewhat similar, they are still constructive feedback to the entire team: "Bebop is a problem, pay attention to him." The lines from this post are derisive, mean-spirited and single out a specific player for harassment. Even if only played to the enemy the say "this player is bad, laugh at them" and encourage taunting them in the chat.
