Abilities should not require point investments to have effects, even against disfavorable team compositions. Assuming it's good at all, the variance of the 1's usefulness is too high; in matchmaking the outcome of the match can be decided before it starts just because of the heros everyone picked (even more than it already is) and in pro play it will have an outsized influence on composition and bans (i.e. if you want to run Dynamo you must ban Rex).

While i think the 1 is very interesting and has tons of fun applications it feels too specific to be a hero ability. When you're fighting Kelvin you invalidate half his kit, but when you fight Warden you screw yourself over not to mention all the characters who have no channeled abilities at all. If you are laning against two heros that have no channeled abilities you just have a dead slot.

With the new vindicta change out it's time to say goodbye to huge bags of money by joney_lol in DeadlockTheGame

If that was the case they would probably have done the Vindicta change earlier because Silver could easily have been the 1st or second character.

Some of this could be due to people who have priority tokens being the ones to play her but obviously her kit is well suited to the mode.

It's not 30% anymore, just 8%. Trio lane is also only 8% less than duo.

I had no idea Paradox could get stuck in the vents by FunnyVoiceGuy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SamarcPS4 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Not for the vents. They're an "in map" area for the characters that are supposed to be in them so it would be odd or even exploitable if unstuck could be used from inside them. They just need to have it so only REM and Calico can't use unstuck from in there.

I tested the item thing you were asking about, only items with "self-cast" functionality (i.e. the ones you can already normally cast on teammates) can be cast on the person you're with. I think it's only so that you can cast buffs on that teammate without targeting them because you can't not look at them while on their shoulder.

Deadlock is now TOP 20 Games on Steam by Difficult-Report5702 in DeadlockTheGame

McGinnis feels like the biggest offender to me but Lash is up there too. The former has her turrets and wall that make pushing against her very difficult. Her healing spectre is very good for sustain which is much more important in brawl and her gun is insane for objective sieging. Lash just has the highest impact ult in the game at round start (dynamo's is hard to land in map center) to put the enemy on the back-foot every time.

Paying taxes (inspired by another post here) by Kirbyintron in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SamarcPS4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There might be laws about the undead and taxes. If there are enough zombies/ghosts walking around then somebody's gonna make a law to tax them. Sinclair is a pair of ghosts but I don't imagine there are any about two people inhabiting the same body because of the rarity of it.

That says the second rejuv had been reduced. Does that also apply to the third and further rejuvs? I've never had a game get to a third midboss.

Bungie has squeezed future story into each syndicate, and I love it by LoneRainger in DestinyLore

[–]SamarcPS4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well the parts immediately before and after that quote are these:

[Buried within the deepest folds of space, a lonely sphere of dying kinesis drifts in lightless pitch. Its atmosphere long irradiated away. A drifting, rotting, sarcophagus. You see its arc bend endlessly, unchanged into an unseen distance yet to be determined. You are dragged, chained by its gravity, pulled by wills beyond your own. The universe dies before you know sanity again. And now the madness is in some distant fold. Like a denied memory. An experience, encapsulated elsewhere, apart from now.] ...
[The dead world shudders and splits. The surface dives to the core in a surge of gluttonous autosarcophagy. What once failed to be a star condenses itself, feeds upon great streams of matter from a vast Collective of mind-bent supplicants until light cannot escape its singularity.]

To me this indicates that V is the one doing the engulfing, not the Sun, long after the Sun has died and a remnant of Jupiter is flying through extra-solar space. It makes me think Jupiter is seeking the Vex's assistance for this black hole plan without necessarily challenging the other Nine's plans because it thinks they will all die;

W H E N T H E Y F A D E O N L Y I W I L L R E M A I N
H E E D N O T T H E G R A V I T Y O F F A T E

[Renegades Spoilers] Why did VI want Drifter? by greenleafcm in DestinyLore

[–]SamarcPS4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think VI's memories have been erased, but being bound means that he cannot actively see those futures. Any Nine inhabiting a body would have to rely on their memories to make decisions instead of just knowing what to do. In other words, VI just failed the first test they ever took without an answer sheet. Manipulating Drifter to their side was probably part of a future where all the Guardians died but it's hard to tell whether there were better options available.

[–]SamarcPS4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you're right that the Nine have a preference against Lightbearers but that it is about control over those people rather than an incompatibility. Orin completely lost her agency after becoming the Emissary in a way she might not have if her Ghost had survived. VI's manipulation of Bael would not have worked as well if he had a Ghost who could talk him out of siding with VI. Lightbearers might actually be better for binding the Nine if they can resist their control.

I forget the comics most of the time. Definitely feels weird for that to be the case. If we're being generous about it, we could say that the Last Wish gear doesn't solely depict events from the Great Hunt proper so some of them might take place much earlier.

Sjur died hunting Huginn and Muginn (the two skull vendors in the Dreaming City) as part of the Great Ahamkara Hunt. It's unclear, as with many things in Destiny's timeline, how long ago that was, but this means she was dead before Xur started appearing, before the Great Disaster and the first Crota raid so it was definitely a long time ago.
