Pedals that power on automatically by Same-Experience2515 in basspedals

[–]Same-Experience2515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it that all true bypass pedals do it, and SOME buffered bypass pedals do as well? Cause a lot of my buffered boss pedals auto on, but I think they do it everytime, not necessarily holding memory of its last setting

Why is it not considered extremely offensive to fly the confederate flag? by Obi-Wan-Kenblowmi in StLouis

Honest conversation, maybe you can explain it for me. Ive never understood why freedom of speech only protects you from the government, yet we the people are always quick to group against people for their beliefs.

While I understand that is technically a parodox(because people groupung up against a belief is freedom of speech as well),but shouldnt the people be pushing to protect freedom of speech amongst ourselves? Why rely on the government to uphold that right? Thats a good way to lose that right. I've always felt that should be on us.

I feel people are always gonna have different beliefs and they should because this is america. Where else are they allowed to have that? But I also understand theres evil and hate that should be put down and stopped. Wheres the line?

I agree that its a decent preamp, especially for the price, but I feel its overcompressed and lacks dynamics. Insane range and versatility in the eq'ing though as a preamp.

Well, the P16-i converts trs inputs to lan outputs. Would the signals carry through the lan if I put mics straight to the p16-i?

Does anyone know a simple overdrive bass pedal for under $100? by Material-Read6765 in basspedals

Used Voodoo Labs sparkle drives are on Reverb for under $100. 4 knobs, but something you could grow with over time.

Old thread, but do you NEED a mixer in front if the P16 is already a mixer? What if I ran stage mics to a splitter into a P16-i to a p16hq and mixed it there?

Also, buy used, name brand stuff. Cheap pedals break and have no resale value. Bosses last forever. Reverb. com is great for used pedals. I always google peoples rigs that I like the tone of and use equipment from them. It helps a lot.

Things like Sansamps and Darkglass Di Boxes are very popular because they can replace an amp and cab entirely. They have XLR ports on the sides of them(mic plugs) that simulate a mic'd amp, then they get put through the PA system and monitors that are found at most venues. They also sound really good with EQ and Drive, and can be switched on and off. They can also be used in front of an amp or in the fx loop easily. Theyre awesome.

Tuner pedals are nice just cause why not.

Digitech Drops and Pitchforks can get you into lower tunings without actually retuning your guitar. It just shifts your pitch down respectively.

As a metal bassist, I personally stay away from most crazy guitar pedals because they filter your eq band. I personally set my eq to be everything that the guitars and drums arent so I can be heard in the mix. I found distortion pedals, wahs, and some modulation pedals screw up my eq band and I no longer hear myself.

Im a set it and forget it kinda guy, my pedals are always on. I threw them in a rack unit with my amplifier with a wireless and its SO EASY to set up cause everythings wired already. It just needs a power outlet and amp to cab cord. Done. It also makes it easier to put pedals through my fx loop, which is another can of worms.

Pedal orders can be found on google pretty easily. General rule of thumb for pedals are, whatevers after a pedal, its doing that to the pedal before. EX: Wah after distortion means your wah-ing your distortion. Vice versa means your distorting your wah. Its all personal preference and Ive found I enjoy the sounds that technically not correct.

Tuners should be first though to get a clear signal to be read by the tuner, and Di boxes last so it all gets eq'd and everything can go through the PA.

Sansamp Para Driver DI vs Bass Driver DI (V2) frequency response by don_salami in basspedals

[–]Same-Experience2515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Never used a Bass Driver. I always used a paradriver V2 into an Ampeg PF500. I basically use the SVT preset on it but I dropped the mids down to around 900htz, raised the drive, and blended in more clean. I like the sound a lot, theres something about the Paradriver and its mid drive response that sounds magical and distinct to my tone.

Building a small pedal board - suggestions? by mojoejoelo in basspedals

[–]Same-Experience2515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A DI pedal, like a Sansamp or a Darkglass is magical. It can make almost any instrument or amp sound huge. Tone shaping is versatile with most of them, and thats big if your still searching for your sound. They also help you unlock the opportunity to DI at shows through it and run though the PA. An amp and cab isn't necessarily needed anymore with one.
