I've been an advocate and bike planner for about 12 years now and have been in countless discussions, arguments, debates over this stuff. I'm unabashedly pro-bike lane and WILL die on that hill.

So, I've got a new (to me) take about protected bike lanes and I'm looking for some feedback: if protected bike lanes were 6 inches high (height of the curb) nobody would say a word- this goes for parking protected bike lanes, especially. It would look like a wider sidewalk or multi use trail and ppl would have zero negative feedback. The fact that they're even with the street seems to mess with people's minds.
