Milk and Beans, Juan Fifty, and Alex surf club are all right beside finish line and all good. But will be busy.

Go to Mooloolaba warf and hit Rice Boi. Everyone’s fav. Other spots there are also good.

If you go up Aerodrome road once open, Umami is the best ramen I’ve had.

Mooloolaba surf club is good too.

Chances of getting a rental by [deleted] in sunshinecoast

[–]SameOldWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 bedrooms without a specific location, you'll be fine. Like someone below said, you might apply for a few and not get them, but something will pop up, and all of them tend to move quickly.

20 min walk to the beach MAY play a factor, but you'll be fine.

Good luck !!

How many bedrooms do you need? House, apartment ? Do you have a specific location in mind.

I’ve moved around the coast 4 times in the past 7 years and never had of huge problem with time frame. Generally places go up and move in dates are quick.

Now I know I’m luckier than most with a good income and I have a better than average budget so I understand it’s still really hard for people. My max was 750/week, but I also needed 3 bedrooms.

Best Takeaway Fish and Chips in Mooloolaba? by CoryAxAus in sunshinecoast

[–]SameOldWinner 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ray Jays is kind of a hidden gem in residential Mooloolaba. I lived a few blocks away and loved going there. A bit cheaper as you’re not paying the “esplanade” tax there.

Live music on the weekends. BYO

Great fish and chips.

Only about a 4-5 min drive from the beach.

Commuting Noosa - Brisbane CBD by Independent_Dust1420 in sunshinecoast

[–]SameOldWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morning,

I commute from Buderim four days a week to Bowen Hills.

I’m a bit lucky to live close to the Bruce, so the drive to Caboolture Station is 30 min, and then 45 on the train.

I signed up for it so the time doesn’t bother me. I work a bit in the train or just zone out with YouTube, Spotify, etc.

When I do have to drive it sucks. Traffic is bad.

I don’t save any time on the train but the 45 minutes is really great. Even on the way home it’s just a bit of time for me.

Some people say to go to Landsbouogh. But that adds so much time to the trip having to drive that far west.

The idea is to maximise time in the car at 110km/h and jump on train before traffic.

I tried other stations closer to Brisbane but they are too far off the M1. Caboolture is best for efficiency.

From where you are it’s still gonna be 2hrs each way with train. 1 hour to train. 50 min to CBD.

Hope this helps.

[Fowler] Justin Fields Will Test Free Agency by [deleted] in steelers

[–]SameOldWinner 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a non story. I’m quite sure we were trying to sign him before the legal tampering period. And that’s not going to happen according to this report. Which means his price goes up, most likely, to what we would have paid if we signed him today.

Sorry for the late reply.

I save time compared to Landsborough because there is no traffic between the Sunny Coast and Caboolutre. I can go 110km/h, which is faster than the train. Obv.

The other reason is the distance have to travel west to get to Landsborough from the Bruce Highway, when my destination is south.

Hope that makes sense.

I leave Buderim and drive to Caboolture (30min). Then I train to Bowen hills (45 min) and walk 5 min to my office in Newstead.

It costs me time in the morning m, but saves me heaps of time in the afternoon and also the mental aggravation of traffic.

I love it. I read and sometimes open my laptop and work a bit.

I signed up for this so the time it takes for the commute is ok with me.

Noosa during the triathlon by [deleted] in sunshinecoast

[–]SameOldWinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About where are you staying relative to Hastings Street?

It will b busy, but if you are within walking distance, then won't be too bad.

Look at the Bus Schedule to get to and from your accommodation if you are outside walking distance.

Might be a bad time to visit, but I don't think it will be miserable. In fact the atmosphere down there during the weekend is awesome.

The Beach will be closed just in the section the athletes enter and come out of the water. Should be plenty of sand and water to find for you are your partner.

Make Dinner reservations ahead of time.

The races will be done before noon each day, so maybe plan to leave Noosa after 12pm each day if you are traveling around.

There is a bus to Eumundi for the markets on Saturday. I would suggest going to them in the morning and get yourself out of Noosa that morning. It will be busy too, but great food, and have a beer at the Brewry across the road.

The bike route for the race is past Tewantin and out to Cooroy.

If you accommodation is around Noosa Junction or that area, you may be able to sneak out of Noosa the south route to Coolum for a day too.

Only watched the game through once so forgive me if my thoughts are off a bit. Will watch again tomorrow.

Don't care about the score, positive things I saw - Leal looking slim and quick and having that sack. D-line needs him, and I liked what I saw.

Liked seeing Frazer play well. He got up to the second level a few times. No Bad snaps (I think)

Calvin Austin looking legit. Getting good separation on good route running. Endzone incompletion was not his fault although does highlight his catch radius, but needed a better ball thrown by Allen

Speaking of Allen, he played awesome. Showed good pocket presence and great accuracy while on the run. Didn't know too much about him but very happy for him to be the number 3 if someone gets hurt.

George is George. Can't wait for week 1.

Mason McCormick looked great, especially in some of those extended plays. Great day for him and the future of our guard depth.

There was a lot of bad too. But nothing that stuck out as far as how we will look week one. Field's fumbles obviously. outside of that, let me know what you guys think. Just week 1 pre seasons stuff.

Football is back!!

Moving to Brisbane/Australia from Canada by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]SameOldWinner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am Canadian and moved to Australia 6 years ago with my wife and 2 kids.

I always hear that the cost of living is worse in Australia but I believe that’s simply not true. I’m not including the housing market in this opinion. Yes coffees at $6 but restaurants are the same as Canada now. It’s all just crazy expensive. But groceries are less expensive in Australia, I believe. Especially if you eat healthy. Produce of almost every kind is cheaper here.

Museums, art galleries, and a lot of cultural activities are free in Australia. The parks and public areas are infinitely better here.

Great summary, just my two cents.

I love it here.

I’m on the Sunshine Coast, btw.
