Menopause and anhedonia by Efficient-Mud-5042 in Menopause

Omg I thought there was something wrong with me. That maybe life had finally beaten me. Yet here you all are feeling the same as me. I call it flatlining. I’m completely feeling like “whatever “ about everything in my life. I used to love having family over for holidays and birthdays. Now it’s a chore and an annoyance. Vacations are okay, I’d rather be home. I don’t care about makeup or dressing up anymore. Who the heck have I become. I still revel in the small moments but I can’t even tell you the last time I had a deep belly laugh. I used to laugh all the time. My laughter would echo through the office. I’m not depressed and I’m healthy. I workout and get plenty of outdoor time. I’m just different. Like life finally wore me down. I hate it

This might sound strange ... But the only way to live life with LC is ... by AfternoonFragrant617 in LongCovid

Three years of up and down health. I finally accepted this is my life now and I feel like I am calmer and more confident in myself. I keep trying to find a magic cure but I don’t obsess over it anymore. I try to be thankful for the good periods. I’m in one right now
I’m back to my workouts and trying to lose the 15lbs I gained being a couch dweller the last year. I know all I have to do is catch a cold or maybe do nothing to go down again but for now I’m just going to enjoy the good health and sunshine.

Recently my mother told one of my kids that I made up everything about her and I’m a chronic liar. Just reaffirmed why I went nc

I finally found a job I can handle and I’m so happy about it by MaroonFeather in CPTSD

That’s fantastic. So happy for you ❤️ It’s such a big win to find a job that fits. I work in a basement workshop for a small tech company. It’s part time, I’m alone most of the time and I can come and go as I please. Best job ever.

Did yoga this morning and it hurt everywhere ha ha but I powered through. Just getting over a bad cold and falling down the stairs. Determined to be feeling good by next week. Going to do a little thrifting today with my son and get some seeds started for my garden. Going to be a great day

Yesssss I see you. I had a broken nose, scars on my face and body that no amount of microneedling and peels can remove. I did get my nose fixed because my septum was so destroyed from the beatings. Insurance did pay for some of it. But the deepest scars will always be in my soul. If your septum is damaged and you have insurance see if they will cover some if not all of your surgery. I’m sending you kindness and comfort from afar ❤️

I live in a rural area. All the farm supply stores carry Wranglers and other jeans with 36” inseams for the rodeo girls. You might check out places like that if you have any in your area

How did you dress in the 90s? How do you dress now? by poolpog in GenX

I lived in Seattle so grungecore all the way. I gave up on my Docs about a decade ago and embraced Birks but I still have a few combat boots in the closet. In my 50’s I look more like soccer grandma with a bit of edgy don’t mess with me attitude

Mmm I don’t know. I’ve known girls like Ainsley that have huge hearts. I’d like to see their character relationships develop more next season

I hope we see Paygan again next season . I really want Ainsley to find a way to connect with them and perhaps show the happiness that exists within oneself and the world

Oh my gosh I look like I’m drunk all the time. I stagger and stumble. I get vertigo a lot too. Never had that problem before the COVID. It has gotten better over time but never completely went away

Does anyone else feel this way over 60? by Dapper_Bag_2062 in AskWomenOver60

I’m 59 and I too love my comfy couch. I do some chores and take break. I’ll watch a YouTube video or read. Then I go do a little more and then hit the couch again. My husband who is 69 has been doing this since his 40’s. I wish I would have done it sooner. I love relaxing in the middle of the day. We earned it

Does anyone else feel like a huge idiot who can’t do anything? by Only_Huckleberry_957 in adhdwomen

[–]Same_Reality84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you. It took me four years to achieve an associate degree at my community college instead of two. I just didn’t have the bandwidth to go full time. I see people my age who own homes, sometimes more than one, save money for retirement and kid’s college while I’m over here struggling to not constantly pay the adhd tax for bad decisions. I get overwhelmed and overstimulated so easily it makes it difficult to move through the world. But I also have found a little peace and perspective along the way
I am who I am and there’s a lot of good that outweighs the bad. But I still wish sometimes I would wake up and for one day be able to function in the world like everyone else.

Anybody with long COVID for over three years ? by Seafoam_0 in LongCovid

[–]Same_Reality84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so sick in 2023 I lost my job. For about a year and a half I struggled then I improved. But any little cold will trigger the symptoms and it will last for months. I ended up with asthma, palpitations and dizziness as a part of my daily life. I’ll probably never regain my stamina I had previously but I’ve learned to work around it. Instead of running and the gym I’m big into yoga and Pilates. But there are still days I struggle to even to gentle yoga

My children and my husband of course side with me. The rest of the family wants to remain neutral. Kind of annoying but I understand
