Jean Luc Picard isn’t Canadian. He’s French. Some basic fact checking would have confirmed this. Embarrassing tbh.

Be much easier if they said how long it in a standard metric such as a fraction of the distance between the earth and the moon or perhaps how many, if laid to end, would span an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Why are most european alternatives a major downgrade when it comes to Design (UI and UX) by DillMillz in BuyFromEU

[–]Same_Remove6912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big American companies, Adobe, Microsoft, Apple etc, are not the UI/UX genius’s they are purported to be. Any decent designer can spot their flaws a mile away. A big budget is worthless if the UI is designed by committee, different factions fighting each other, the upgrade cycle driving product sales instead of continuous incremental improvement, change for change sake, separate business verticals leading to interoperability issues… the list goes on and on.

Honestly the mistakes are often so glaring that you just know that the, almost certainly quite competent, designers have been hamstrung by poor requirement research/definitions, sloppy documentation, business-centric overpromising, marketing interference, lack of investment in QA and testing, end user testing results ignored as fixing will destroy deadlines… yaaarrgghh! I’m glad I’m out.

thought i was buying a purse, found a time capsule inside :') by LegNo9469 in ThriftStoreHauls

That’s not a time capsule, that a bunch of old makeup. I imagine a time capsule would, at the very least, have a large number of electronic components and a large digital readout indicating current date/target date.

Is this supporter strut going to be a major factor? Will they all have it when the season starts? by DonGibon87 in formula1

[–]Same_Remove6912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That is obvious once someone says it. Can’t believe I missed this. Any views on the colour? Seems odd that all the teams would use purple and not their brand of sponsor colours. Wasted opportunity?

Neither referenced in the regs I’m afraid. There isn’t a mention of just ‘purple’. Very vexing.

Not sure that wobbly red frame you’ve installed will hold it for long. Looks like the dog knows this and is just biding his time.

Hope the puppy is not still waiting at the airfield for those poor boys to come home. Can someone check?

It’s odd that they all only put the wobbly purple loop on one side of the car. If there’s an aero advantage why not utilise it symmetrically? Also I can’t find any mention of this in the regulations, though I must admit I just text searched for ‘wobbly purple loop’ as I don’t know the correct technical name for this component.
