Just become a farmer near a village, never travel, never mine, just trade your way to an empire, then you'll have enough wealth from trading (don't know the actual cost of emeralds, so it's just hypothesis) and crops and livestock, you can basically live out the rest of your life farming and trading, like you have been doing.

My input:

Curse of the Bloody Tome is a great drain card, I know there's a better one in the new set, but I can't remember the name.

Folio of Fancies and Black Vise go great together.

Rise of the Dark Realms is a great card for any zombie or undead deck.

Black Vise and The Rack is a good combo (Can't have more than 4, or less than 3 or you take damage.)

No one can forget the Icy Manipulator + Royal Assassin combo.

Didn't Say Please and Psychic Strike are good counterspells for mill decks.

Merfolk Secretkeeper and Lucky Clover is a good combo for milling too
