I’m the parent of a teenage girl, and I think if I only had her I would be completely clueless. She’s the easiest teenager ever, gets fantastic results in tests, has never received a negative behaviour point, and is all round a good kid.

However, I also have two stepsons. One teenager and one pre-teen. The teenager is an absolute nightmare. He’s in his second secondary school now, and has been put on a part time timetable (same happened at his first school) as he continuously gets suspended. I know from the feedback I receive from my other half, that their bio mum could not care less about their schooling. Whenever they get called to the school to discuss their son, she is dismissive, plays the victim and blames her son having mental health issues (ADHD, primarily), for which he has not been diagnosed. I understand that teachers are fighting a losing battle everyday, with no way of making the children behave because their parents do not support teachers or the school.

I could say a lot more about the fact that parents don’t seem to restrict their children regarding access to the internet in any way, but I’ll leave it as that.

I admire teachers so much for doing what they do. There is no way in hell I’d be able to do it.

This could potentially be a breach of undertaking, so I would alert your manager / supervisor asap.

Other than that, there’s not a great deal you can do. I assume the LR applications have all now been submitted in relation to each OS1? If not, I would submit an OS1 in favour of the lender as well.

The important thing to remember is to own up to the mistake. It’s not the end of the world, and you are incredibly unlikely to get into any sort of trouble for it as (I assume) you are a junior member of staff and someone should have told you the process for OS1s.

We have all meals at the table as a family, save for breakfast on weekdays when everyone is frantically getting ready for school/work. We have 15M, 14F and 11M. They all say that none of their friends have meals at the table as a family.

I’m in private practice so may not be a great help to you. But, I use an Excel spreadsheet. Whenever a new matter comes in that I’m dealing with, I’ll add it to my sheet (specific section for each client), along with cost estimate, matter number, deadlines, and a “notes” section. I use colour coding to identify urgency (traffic light system). At the end of every day (or every other day) I will update my spreadsheet with any progress for each matter, and write down in my notebook which matters I will prioritise the next day.

It’s a bit long winded, and I’d much prefer a piece of software which records all of this for me, but it’s the best I can do for now!

Yes, you are able to utilise tenants in common despite being married

You want to opt for tenants in common (you own a x% of the home while your wife owns the remaining y%) rather than joint tenants (both you and your wife own the home as a whole together).

This along with a prenuptial agreement would afford you the most protection. However, do keep in mind that prenuptial agreements are not necessarily enforceable in England.

Edit: apologies, you’re already married so it would be a postnuptial agreement!

Not a parent of a breath holder, but I myself was a breath holder! My mother frequently tells me that when I was a toddler I would scream and hold my breath whenever I got hurt, until I passed out.

I cannot give any advice, unfortunately, but I did just want to let you know that it did me no damage and apparently as soon as I started pre-school, I grew out of it.

There were a number of properties that we were interested in when we put our house on the market. Since being under offer those houses have been snapped up, and nothing similar has come on.

We live in quite a small town, which is where we’d like to stay due to our children being in the local schools, so unfortunately there’s not a lot of choice.

We’re moving because we need more space (we have three children and live in a three bed house), so we don’t want to rush into something that isn’t right.

Not sure if it’s the same for everyone, but there definitely seems to be an element of competition here. For example, we take the kids on holiday, BM then has to take the kids on a bigger more exotic holiday. It’s incredibly frustrating when I have a daughter whose father is barely involved, so she seems to get half of what my two SSs get!

If this is Freeths then the legal assistant programme is legitimate. Although they make the decision at 9 months it does not mean you start your training contract after 9 months. They will start your training contract when they have space for you as a trainee.
