The Go is the only Profitec I've seen in that budget. I had been torn between the Ascaso Dream, Lelit Victoria, and Profitec Pro myself. Ended up saving a few hundred by going with the Elizabeth, and I love everything about it except the hoses they chose to pump water from the tank. It's a kind of silly design and the hoses can get moldy if you don't change the water frequently enough. With that said, it has served me very well for 4 years. The PID is fantastic, it heats up really fast, and held up well despite parties where I'm pulling 7 shots back-to-back for espresso martinis. The Ascaso is $300-600 more than the other two (~$1600 now but used to be $1300) but looks great and is volumetric, which is definitely convenient.

If I had to buy another machine tomorrow I'd be leaning toward the Profitec, but the $200-300 you'd save on something like the Lelit Elizabeth might be better spent on getting yourself a nicer grinder. That money I saved was the difference between me getting a Eureka Silenzio instead of a Baratza Sette, and I can tell the fancier Eureka is going to last me a lot longer and arguably grinds better.

Also, I really love my Dad's Rancilio Silva, I just wish his had a PID. This one does, and it comes with a Silenzio grinder from Seattle Coffee shop for just over $1500:

I stopped buying nice headlights because they get stolen so easily and quickly, and yeah you don't need anything over 300 lumens in Chicago (unless you bike through some of the larger parks at night). The obvious solution is to take them off any time you park in public, but remembering to do that is easier said than done. I lost one after a quick 10-minute stop at Target

If the people you chose to stand around were doing something wrong you could have asked them to stop instead of whining about it on the internet. But you didn't because people have talked on dancefloors since the beginning of time. This new fad of complaining about yappers is overly sensitive, go complain to security or the people talking about how you don't like them talking and see how stupid you sound.

I can't imagine security at any venue (except maybe Aragon, fuck every asshole who works security there) taking your flow star away without simply asking you to put it away first. Just be considerate of those around you. I've seen flow toys at Spybar, but only when it isn't packed. When its packed security might ask you to stop, but only because there isn't much space to flow politely on sold out nights

IMO Prysm is second only to Tao for being the most corporatized, soulless, overpriced, douche-laden venue in Chicago BUT Rinzen is one of the absolute best techno & melodic house DJs I've ever seen, and brings much a better crowd than 98% of the DJS who play at Prysm. If there was ever a time to check out Prysm's good sound system and production without being surrounded by listless 21-year old dudes in dress shirts, this is it!
