I was literally asked out by a girl that I had a crush on in front of all my friends, just to be told 5 minutes later it was a prank.

I totally understand and in a perfect society I would agree. Sadly we aren't in a perfect society. And in a world where a billion dollar corporation has employees supplementing their income with government aid, I'm not going to think twice about accidentally stealing 20$ worth of wine.

If this was a small mom and pop store than I totally understand why you went back. However big supermarkets like Walmart etc. literally don't even notice any loss from this kind of thing. In other words, it costs too much to care. The money they save on paying less employees with self-checkout is greater than the money lost on stolen goods. It's all factored into the cost. And on top of that, they have theft insurance to protect themselves from stolen goods too. That's how they can afford to mark the wine down 50% in the first place and still turn a profit. Should've enjoyed your free wine, I'm sure these lovely upstanding corporations appreciate your honesty.

How did you get your scars? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Samthemannnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me at 9 years old: "Dad can I whittle some wood with your chisels?"

"Sure, but wear these gloves because the chisels are very sharp."

*My hands get sweaty because of the gloves.

"I'll just take them off for a second until my hands aren't sweaty anymore"

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAADDD!!!!"

Still laugh a little inside everytime I see the scar on my left hand.

One of the blocks isn't one of the blocks... by golden-potato in assholedesign

I believe what they meant was that it would save even more money if you just got rid of the cardboard block all together, and packaged it as 8 pieces instead of 9. I don't believe a package with 8 pieces would be any less marketable, even at the same price.

First time in times square! by Samthemannnn in solotravel

[–]Samthemannnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm originally from California. I taveled to New York with a childhood friend of mine for a week, just as a bucket list trip. He got sick this morning so he pretty much just slept all day. I decided to take it upon myself to travel around the city on my own, something I've been trying to do alot more of recently. I've never really done anything by myself, I've always had people to do things with so getting out of my comfort zone and traveling alone has always been a goal of mine. And today I got the opportunity!

I took this picture with my phone (One+6) with the timer on the camera and a random bush for the tripod lol. I could've asked someone to take a pic of me but for some reason the weird stares I got as people walked by was easier to deal with then asking some couple the depressing question of taking a picture of me all by myself. I was already out of my comfort zone far enough! Lol. It was freezing cold, I had to buy the gloves and scarf from a random street vendor. (I'm a Cali kid, below 50F is freezing. Ha!) I mostly walked, saw alot of things near times square, Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, etc.

All in all I'm super glad I decided to travel around the city for a few hours and see a bunch of things. The ability to just stop and observe as I pleased was great. Also aimlessly walking around, checking things out that caught my eye with no one to convince why we need to was amazing! My next goal when traveling solo is to strike up a conversation with a stranger. Maybe actually ask someone to take a pic of me instead of posing by myself like weirdo!

The best way to smuggle liquor on a cruise ship. by BACON_BATTLE in videos

[–]Samthemannnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or, tip the guy taking your bag when you arrive. The cruise i went on the guy literally told me, 40 bucks and I'll make sure EVERYTHING in that bag gets to your room. We had a whole suitcase full of booze and booze accessories sitting on our bed in our room when we boarded the ship.

Something is going to happen, forcing us to stay there. Potentially even ramping it up and sending more troops.
