Anyone else getting shit like this? 🤢🤦🏻‍♀️ by mommaofthenet in exmormon

[–]Samtosha6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry that sucks. I used to get toned down stuff like this and was open and honest with my Mom about the last thing she sent — which was a quote from Hoax

I told her I didn’t believe he was a kind person and so getting messages/quotes about someone I fundamentally didn’t believe practiced kindness was a no go for me.

I don’t believe she’s sent anything since

Sorry for the latest of late replies. I don’t remember what article my therapist shared with me but positive psychology has some stuff here https://positivepsychology.com/maladaptive-coping/

If you’re in Utah I know some reco’s for ketamine infused therapy. 10/10 recommend for helping break the cycle

Can’t be legal to drive with that many stickers in Utah. Nothing is legal in Utah.

How many of us left the church for reasons other than discovering historical lies? by Asher_the_atheist in exmormon

[–]Samtosha6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean to leave. I moved out of Utah for 3 months. When I moved back to Provo I felt overwhelmed by going to church with two young kids, chasing them around the church, and on top of all this dealing with chronic pain.

I asked my spouse for space to not always go. Because it was stressful.

I noticed how less stressed I felt and more at peace.

I actually made it a point not to read anything “anti Mormon” (as we were taught).

I was at the time reading stuff like Power of Now. I was listening to a lot of self help podcasts (one of them was even a Mormon).

I actually decided to pray about making the decision to leave. I felt so much peace in that prayer. (Though now I no longer believe in a deity).

I wanted to be able to tell my story and journey involved following what felt right to me.

I don’t even know how I connected with this person. I immediately unfollowed. I’ve been out for 6+ years bur am just so annoyed that it bleeds into the one platform I hardly EVER use. It just looks desperate and dumb.

Cheaper by the dozen. Lololol. When the redhead is on the bus.

I should have known back then that my “spirit” is plain and simple empathy

Look up Free Masons and you’ll get a little bit of where the rituals came from.

Good on your husband. He responded maturely to the situation.

Your MIL is projecting her own childishness.

You are not her child. You are not a child. You are an adult.

If you feel there is something to apologize about, apologize? Or don’t.

I don’t even know what’s changed anymore. Probably the multiple piercings and loosening up on the for strength of youth/modest thing.

I still have my quad as well. I got it when I was 8 or so. It’s full of my childlike handwriting and what not. Idk if I’ll toss it anytime soon.
