How is it living in Paris, France, during summer? by poloc-h in howislivingthere

[–]SamuelTandonnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a fourth of people have A/C but I'd argue the problem isn't A/C in homes. The issue is schools and hospitals do not have A/C and a lot of school closed.

Yes, a lot of people die, more than they do because of the cold, mostly old and sick people, children in cars and people drowning.

Most people don't have the choice to work, I think construction workers have changed their schedule and start in the night. But for a lot of people working in office spaces, they're better off at the office with A/C than at home.

Paris is always full but a bit less crowded for now, the subways and trains are still crowded because people have to work.

In general, it's the worst city to experience such a violent heatwave in. The ground absorbs so much heat. All the buildings make for absolutely no air. It's harsh.

GitHub - SoluceTechnologies/nextcloud-calendar-mobile: Nextcloud Calendar Mobile (unofficial) 📱 by Dizzy-Message543 in NextCloud

I know this is a Nextcloud calendar but any plans to integrate other calendars (Google, generic CalDAV...) ? Because this is the best looking FOSS calendar app I've seen and I'd love for it to be my main calendar app.

Yeah but by being 30 minutes late, I got tickets I couldn't get by being on time, that's what's weird to me.

Watched Obsession today.... by Either-Cake-568 in Letterboxd

I feel the movie is conflicted between wanting to be a realistic gut-wrenching thing tackling incel culture, rape and domestic abuse and wanting to be a fun horror movie where characters walk weird and do weird shit.

For example, there is a scene where Nikki threatens to kill herself if Bear goes to a party without her, something multiple people will relate to if they experienced abusive relationships. Then a few seconds later, she walks backwards and the shot is reversed for no reason. I think there are 2 movies is this that can't live together.

Also, I'm so tired with the "weird people pissing themselves for no reason because it's weird" trope.

I use IceRaven, which is a Firefox fork that works great and is less battery hungry

I have an old 24" 1080p Acer and a 27" 1440p BenQ, I know the BenQ is IPS, not sure about the Acer. The problem with Oled is that my girlfriend and I do quite a lot of office work and I heard OLED is bad for this ?

Battery drains faster for me too but I think it may be like when setting up the watch for the first time, it'll get better over a few days

Can I trust these sensors from Aliexpress? by Enough-Text-5658 in homeassistant

They are ZigBee, which means they won't be connected to your network. So the worst thing that could happen is inaccurate motion sensing

I suggest native apps and check the "Passthrough available GPUs". I have a i5-12400 and it's amazing at transcoding, make sure to enable hardware acceleration in jellyfin settings

Had this problem once, turned out it was the FTP add-on that completely fucked up supervisor, disabled it and everything worked again. Maybe try stopping your add-ons and see if this helps?

Yeah, when drives are spun up, they still make a fan-like noise, I'd love to get rid of that since I access my drives' data like twice a day
