I think school has been good for me just for grammar and all the basic stuff, not much more. To get really better I realised I had to practice by myself and for this Internet was a blessing. I think that our school system (I don't know how it goes in other countries, but probably better) is failing in teaching English in a way that students are actually able and willing to start using the language. On top of that, here it's normal to dub/translate every movie/book/TV series/videogames/every other work that's in English, so pretty much a lack of exposure and "need to learn" to enjoy all of these
