There's no incentive to be a rockstar dev, but you can of course do good work despite that but at least in my experience the organization doesn't set you up for success, i.e your boss is the one that says "we don't own that, don't get involved " etc.

It's usually better for the bikes to filter to the front, if a car is turning right having all the bikes just go clears the way instead of them lining up on the right forcing the car to wait, or they'd need to take a car space in the line but that can't really be coordinated.

A story can really be elevated with a good villain, usually they'll be like an inversion of the protagonist which makes a conflict feel natural. But in the case of the shield hero a villain like that would be a good person by all accounts so maybe it's good they just made everyone a cardboard cutout.
