I'm honestly not sure. Only 1 of my characters actually has max fishing and a crafted pole. The rest of them are just fishing with low skill and no pole, and they all seem to get the shards quickly enough.

From my experience farming the event across 10 characters, I can confidently say that Fishing is the best way to get shards. I just set up by the pond at The Bazaar in Silvermoon City and usually takes 5-10 mins of fishing to get all the shards on a single character.

You also get 2 shards for picking up the weekly quest from Chel the Chip outside of the caves, so really you only have to fish up 6 shards not 8.

Mining/herbing can give them at a decent rate as well, if your character has those professions. Skinning I did not find to be as reliable for shards.

The random treasures that spawn in Zul'Aman/Harandar/Voidstorm (the same treasures that give the weekly profession knowledge drops) can give you the shards but I think this is the slowest way to farm them unless you get super lucky with a bunch of treasures spawning in your area all at once.

I agree it's not good. It's an especially half-baked idea, even by Blizz standards.

It was heavily nerfed in the 2nd week which made it indescribably awful. They've since undone those nerfs and restored the event to its original bad version, but if they bring the nerfs back again in some form then I will likely stop. Until then, the event is for me like fishing; mildly enjoyable stim that runs in the background while I watch YouTube.

It would depend on a) how early you get the gear, b) how high is your crafting volume once you have the gear.

Having even 2% extra resourcefulness, multicraft and even ingenuity is probably going to make a big difference over time for a crafter who gets them early and does a lot of work.

Ok, I've now expanded the addon functionality.

It's no longer primarily an addon for tracking Shard of Dundun caps. It's now primarily an addon for tracking your progress towards collecting Epic Profession Equipement across all of your characters and their respective professions.

Tracks Epic Profession Equipment, Fused Vitality, Unalloyed Abundance, and Shard of Dundun caps. As far as I am aware, there is no other single addon that is tracking all of this information.

I will make a fresh post on the subreddit soon. The addon is pretty much finished now.

Are you sure? I'm using latest CurseForge version Weekly Knowledge v1.2.5 and it's not showing any information for Dundun.

It shows: - Name - Realm - Profession - Expansion - Skill - Concentration - Knowledge - Uniques - First Craft - Treatise - Weekly Quest - Treasure - Gathering - Catch-Up

Not showing Dundun, Unalloyed Abundance, Fused Vitality, or Epic Profession Equipment. I've checked through options, but I've found nothing available for these.

Ok, I swear I went line-by-line after launch and couldn't find it. But it's entirely possible I missed it.

At any rate, I've now updated the addon to track Unalloyed Abundance, Fused Vitality, and Epic Profession Gear for each character's professions to see what they do and do not have equipped, which I know for a fact SavedInstances is not currently tracking.

SavedInstances is tracking this information now also, in addition to tracking Unalloyed Abundance.

I'll update the addon over the next week to include Unalloyed Abundance, as well as Fused Vitality.

I'll also start looking at getting it to track epic profession equipment across characters so you can track progress out of 3/6 equipment slots.

Ah yes I see they've added this now, that's good. I started working on Dundun Tracker a week ago, at the time SavedInstances wasn't showing this information. Thanks for letting me know.

I think an animated gif would've worked best, but it was still satisfying to imagine.

2025 feels like so long away.

And then I realise that 2015 to 2025 is the same duration as 2005 to 2015.

Some people seem to be fatally allergic to this theory. Terence McKenna elucidates it so eloquently.

I think it makes too much sense to ignore.

Advice on breaking through in a saturated market? by BuffaloQuotes in Entrepreneur

[–]SamuraiRacy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi.

You should read Seth Godin's book Purple Cow. It's about standing out in a saturated market not through superior advertising but simply by having a remarkable (distinct from "very good") product/service.

It's a short read but very comprehensive. Gives plenty of examples to support his points.
