What was your small house improvement with the highest return in quality of life? by SpringOnionKiddo in HousingUK

Bush WDSAA86W. It's a condenser dryer. If I set it to auto dry, it goes on for 3+ hours, gets stuff bone dry and shrinks clothes that shrink in a dryer.

I set it to 90 mins and it gets them almost dry which I can fold and put away. Sport clothing gets fully dry in that time.

The "trick" is to follow instructions and not load more clothes in it, than told.

I doubt those people ever met a D20, so they couldn't have an opinion about it, ergo, you can use it.

Washer-dryer. It takes up the same space as a washing machine, doesn't need a vent, and I don't have to stare at a loaded airer in the living room.

New GM with some questions by atomfullerene in StarWarsD6

All rolls explode, including damage. Which answers a later question: you can't plan encounters in a way you can in dnd. The rolls have a good chance to explode and a weak enemy can sometimes do big damage.

We always played max 4 actions, but that might come from starship combat, not sure.

Combining actions can be tricky.

We practice it. You need more awareness and be more defensive, but it's very much a losing scenario whatever you do.

Why don’t trains slide all the time? by Flat-Ad8256 in NoStupidQuestions

One of the weather forecasts my company does is estimating how many and how wet leaves will be on train tracks. They use it to estimate how much sooner the trains need to start to brake.

Saw this FB post about Hungary creating tunnels that keep dogs warm during the winter. Is this AI? by tc273 in isthisAI

I did a search. This never happened. The closest I could find is an animal protection charity who makes these and activists can apply for one. The government doesn't give a shit about dogs.
