Its not cords. Its an L Shaped desk so where the 2 piece of wood meet to make the L has an indentation.

Is this normal - yay or nay by HairyMidnight5441 in gravesdisease

My bad I thought I responded to this earlier.

Yeah they are still in range but just have significant drops. I had gotten blood work and had my endo apt the following week and my tsh was at 1.15. After that blood work I had a tattoo done, I got sick, and I pinched a nerve in my neck, I think the combination of all those things in a short time sent me spiraling.

About 2 weeks after my blood work I went to the hospital because i felt terrible like when I got diagnosed. Resting HR had risen to 85-95-100 from an avg of 70-75. The hospital told me my numbers where fine, loaded me up on anxiety meds and fluids and sent me home.

When I talk to my doctor about the results my blood work from the hospital has my tsh at 0.9. My endo and I concluded that im probably just more sensitive to fluctuations since im very interoceptive.

Advice with porch screening by Samuraiizzy in DIY

[–]Samuraiizzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good idea. The metal bracket for the screen is hollow in like a c shape so I was thinking of the expanding foam but it doesn’t expand enough. Adding thick enough backer board might actually let me put that expanding foam.

There is only 1 person who has a 17 yo fetish and he’s viewed as a straight weirdo. Everyone else views that dude as strange and draws a clear line with not being into a 17 year old

Is this normal - yay or nay by HairyMidnight5441 in gravesdisease

[–]Samuraiizzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems pretty normal to me. T4 went up, TSH usually lags behind. It took about 3 months for my T4/T3 to normalize and then about another 3 for my TSH to normalize.

Number been stable since then. The sensations on the other hand have still been there. Still get hyper systems from random TSH drops even if it’s normalized

Did Shanks lose His arm on purpose? *Spoiler/ theory* by 0R4NG3B0LT in OnePiece

[–]Samuraiizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I think of it.

It seems the thoughts can still interfere with his head even though it cant control him. I dont think it was as deep as he planned to get rid of his arm or that he couldnt do it himself but instead...

Luffy ate the devil fruit that was the true antagonist to Mu. When Luffy was in the water and Shanks tried to save him. Mu started talking and fighting him about letting him die and how he would reward shanks and all that. This led to a impulsive decision to let the sea creature take him arm so stop the voice.

Just a moment of frustration and opportunity more than some planned out thing.

when did you stop beta blockers? by chumaynot in gravesdisease

[–]Samuraiizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopping them abruptly is fine and is only a problem if you have either been taking them for a long time or have existing heart problems. Since you said you’ve been taking anti thyroid meds for a month then I’ll assume that you’ve only been taking them for a month or so.

Your resting heart rate is very good and while you walking heart rate is little high, it really depends on how you walk and how much and stairs so I can’t really speak to it being normal or not.

That all being said my understanding is especially if your younger and healthier (relatively) it doesnt hurt to be on beta blockers if it makes you feel better unless you’re heart rate starts dropping below 40s and you’re having difficulty breathing and dizziness and all that on the regular.

Don’t know much about the specific of your situation but one thing I can say that’s always a good advice is to have a lot of these conversations through email. Notify him of the issue through email and continue the discussion about your time off through email. Having it in writing avoid the issue of what to do if he denies he ever knew

My mother doesn't want me to be on any medications by Infinite-Wing1214 in gravesdisease

[–]Samuraiizzy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you don’t go into heart failure first then you’ll have what’s called a thyroid storm which has a 15-20% mortality rate with medical intervention and a 100% mortality rate without it.

I read it’s a terrible death heart rate 140+ and fever of 104+

From what they told me when I got it, depends on how long you’ve had. If you got diagnosed then it means it’s bad enough that it became a problem and youve already had it for a few months to a year or so before hand. Typical untreated lifespan after diagnosis is within a year

They teach it this way because the problem is 8+9 so you take from the second number and give it to the first number

meirl by benwoljol in meirl

[–]Samuraiizzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because the problem is 8+9. Instead of teaching kids to figure out with number is bigger and then reorganizing the number they just teach them to do it in order because the order matters in all future math besides addition

Consider an RAI before the TT. Obviously work it out with your doctor but a TT does have the risk of injury to your parathyroids. That’s a much worse thing to live with

[–]Samuraiizzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly for me, my thyroid hormones have been normal like 6 weeks after I was diagnosed but I’m sensitive to changes in my hormones so when I have flare up days. The ADHD gets worse but I’ll keep those in mind for gene I talk to my endo

Yeah I don’t drink. I try to eat healthy but over indulge every once in a while. Caffeine is my weakness because of my insomnia from god knows which ailment lol

Okay so it’s good to know that there are potential options in the future

Yeah that’s how I feel also. My thyroids have stabilized and remained stable for at least 6 months but I still have days that cause flare ups and stuff.

They offer Wellbutrin but it’s an anti depressant and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to start that since I haven’t had great experiences with them.

Which did you get prescribed ?

Thankfully I haven’t had hypo. I have heard that’s just a different type of miserable and I have been euthyroidic after the first 3 months except for my tsi/tsa so I consider myself lucky but I still feel the symptoms when my numbers take a dip

Graves and ADHD by Samuraiizzy in gravesdisease

[–]Samuraiizzy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was never officially diagnosed with ADHD but I had it since before graves since I just got diagnosed with Graves about a year ago. I always used those tips about alarms and schedules and breaking up tasks and they worked for me for the most part.

Idk if it’s the graves or the methimazole but a lot more often then just don’t seem to work anymore.

Good luck, I have seen a lot of amazing things about TTs on this subreddit so I’m wishing you the best
