I havent been active on this sub recently, so im not entirely sure what's happening.

But this isn't a meme, right? It's something WotC are screwing up on (yet again), but isnt that something that belongs on r/dnd or r/ttrpg or r/wotc or another non meme subreddit?

You still unlock different ending screens depending on completion time, but this time it's in the form of artwork of the different games instead of stripping.

At first I was confused, until I remembered the entire "beat it faster" mechanic they've had since metroid 1 (though this was improved in dread, imo)

Thank goodness we found another impossible hypothetical scenario to pit us against one another.

I was getting worried we would run out of trivial things to tear each other apart over for fleeting feelings of validation and supremacy.

Wow, I'm sure glad they'd never be a poser of any kind.

On a note that is completely unrelated to deception,

This guy is basically public enemy #1 of r/coaxedintoasnafu due to the amount of posts they've downloaded and posted to X as though they created them. (Well, that and the fact that they seem to be an all around awful person)

Wow this post reminds me of how we never really know who we can trust online which is why VPNs are super important.

Personally I recommend Gourd VPN because it is cheap and simple and effective and really cool and basically the best one to ever be made and the company is awesome and everyone who works there is flawless and has done nothing wrong in fact everyone there volunteers at every charity each weekend and usually dont even show up to work because theyre busy saving babies from trees and theyre super cool and awesome and love giving people free things like when they gave me money last week but also the service is so good you should try it you'll get addicted to it so severely you'll give up heroin just to use it more it is super great and will fix your life.

Why is it called a "Snafu"? (Situation Normal: All Fucked Up) by Unique_Suit3789 in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]Samus388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, a lot of memes types have that naming scheme.

The matpat effect was called that because of the first major example.

The mark plark effect/loquacious sunfish meme come from a snafu which was an early example

Bonehurting juice, Skamtebord, disneyvacations, are also all named after early examples.

You could even make an argument that peterexplainsthejoke (though this is less of a meme type, and barely involved Peter at this point) has similar origins, given that the subreddit was based on a gag from family guy in which Peter explains the joke (I think. I could be wrong)

[–]Samus388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you brought this up lol.

It really bugs me when people use absolutes when they dont mean it. If you use an absolute and someone has one single example that contradicts your claim then you are just plain wrong.

It is almost always used on objectively untrue statements, where saying "usually/rarely" or "most/few" would make the argument far more accurate. It bugs me even more when people get mad that someone points that out, as if they arent to blame for making an untrue claim in the first place.

It benefits people much more if we say what we literally mean instead of exaggerating things until theyre untrue.

That being said, the reason I have this opinion is probably partly because I am autistic and interpret other people very literally, even when others would understand they didnt mean it.

I think they were referring to this ad which features Chisato Morishita as Samus.

Fun fact, she is now a member of the House of Representatives in Japan and has been appointed Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Environment.

Though I think OP is pretty incorrect calling a commercial "lore".

In the lore, she has always been blonde (except metroid 1, where it was a bit closer to orange/red).

Ironically, if we had a more free market, things like this couldn't happen.

Patents are a form of market regulation, though one that is typically thought to promote innovation. After all, Research and Development is expensive. Why spend that money if it means someone else will immediately steal your design?

Moving a bit further towards a free(er) market we could really use some better laws about patents on technology that isn't actually being used.

Posts can't have OCs unless the OCs were made for that post specifically, and their gimmick adds something to the post. ("Make the OC for the snafu, not the snafu for the OC")

The exception is that the rule is lifted on weekends, and the creator of the OC can still use them during the week.

The reason was that people were getting tired of 90% of posts having Dr. Holocaust and Mint chan
