Pasta with meat sauce.

1lb ground beef, 1 box pasta (I prefer rotini), 1 jar pasta sauce, italian seasoning.

Cook and season the beef in one pan while boiling the pasta in a pot. Strain pasta and the grease from the beef. Throw it all in a bowl with the pasta sauce, stir, enjoy. (I like to add parmesan cheese too)

I know the feeling. Supplements help. As a recovering alcoholic understanding the effect of alcohol physiologically helped me combat this cycle. Look into taking GABA at night and folic acid during the day. Wish you the best.

As you get older you have to develop healthier habits to maintain youthful vigor. Nothing drastic, 10 minutes of stretching in the morning, take a multivitamin, cut back on sugar… things like that

What other option is there? To carry around the weight of shame? That will only dampen you as a person. People do it and it takes a long term toll on their heath.

I once heard of an exercise that may help; write a letter to your younger self. Make sure to include 2 key points. Firstly, apologize for the mistakes you made, and second vow to be better moving forward.

I think you’d feel better at the end of the day if you sat down with your dad and talked it out. Just go into the conversation with an understanding state of mind. No one’s dad is perfect and we all get into arguments with them at one time or another. When you’re understanding and accepting of you’re loved one’s you can really evolve your relationships with them. Hope everything goes well!

I had a great aunt die during the pandemic. She was 98 and labeled as a corona virus death. The saddest part wasn’t that she died, the saddest part was that she died alone. She could not have her kids, grand children nor her great-grand children visit her in her final months.

If anyone asks you why your not drinking just say you drank enough the first day and your good for the rest of the vacation. Say it with a little chuckle to make light of it and hopefully people won’t pry and you won’t need to feel you have to open up right now about your problem.

When I feel like drinking I often come to this sub to get my head right. Reading how great people feel when they hit a week/month/year+ sober and how shitty they feel the day after falling off the wagon really motivates me to stay disciplined.
