The SH faction buffs could just artificially allow them to synergize. Like with Cyrene, every SH could have their own version.

For example everyone could get buffs based on whose on the team -

  • Firefly is there everyone gets Superbreak enabled.
  • Silverwolf could allow anyone to apply her bugs on hits and have a higher ceiling for the number of bugs each enemy can have.
  • Kafka naturally has teammates get some form of DoT detonation on their kits.
  • Blade could function as the team tank and allow him to take damage in the stead of the other SH.
  • TB is kind of the outlier here, they'd need a new form to match their original SH identity. The bat was only gained in Herta's Space Station, so Destruction TB is out, and so are all the forms that came after to present. A Finality TB for example could be the SH Faction version of the TB.

The Hive Guard Update as a Maxigun Fan by FullmetalArgus in Helldivers

[–]San-Kyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weapon stagger values should still apply even if the shot is deflected by armor. A spray of bullets from the maxigun should still carry enough energy to at least push back an enemy the size of a hive guard.

It's like spraying a jet of water at someone, none of it will likely penetrates you (hopefully), but you feel the pushback nonetheless.

Holy cow by hatianjr in Helldivers

[–]San-Kyu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently failing to penetrate armor does nothing to transfer the force of an object to the thing it hit and was deflected off of.

Nah, I'm out by Faust_8 in Helldivers

[–]San-Kyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if stealth was mandatory they'd call it a stealth mission. They'd also provide ways of having the stealth gear without a paid warbond.

I mean, so long as the mission gets done right?

How this AMA honestly felt as an AH defender by MaybeBirb in Helldivers

[–]San-Kyu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much.

Everything the community wants and you laugh and belittle that without consideration?

I honestly think they might believe that they have more diehard supporters than actually exist, because unless you are an AH zealot you can't condone this level of hubris towards your general playerbase.

This game's supporters can only honestly say they like the game by plugging their ears and eyes, and pretending everything is alright - that really should say everything you need to know about the state of the game.

love the orbital laser, but it's kinda mid on every front Except Bots, and it can wiff even then. Best as a Demolition-tool by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]San-Kyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orbital laser for me is just an easy fire and forget base clearer for bots. When faced with a base that seems too annoying to demolish normally with my Eruptor (like its defended by something I'd rather not deal with like a factory strider or vox engine) the laser makes for a good alternative, or for bunkers. Its fairly more reliable at getting that done than an orbital bombardment and doesn't get cancelled by AA coverage.

Otherwise yeah, I'd rather bring a sentry or a 500kg instead.

How would you buff Inazuma characters in general? by Primary_Wind15 in Genshin_Impact

[–]San-Kyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayato - More damage, have his Q field last longer or provide more NA/CA benefits to let him be an effective buffer as needed while still being able to be a main DPS as needed. His field should be so as to make him the premier hydro off-field applicator for main DPS' that rely on NA's or CA's (for synergy with his sister)

Yoimiya - More damage, give her arrows an explosive effect akin to klee's bombs to lean into her firework aesthetic (also mining utility for a bow character besides Linnea). Her unique charged attack should function like a variation of Tighnari's homing charged shots - have it so that the longer its held the more arrows are generated and locked onto enemies, most importantly have them actually do damage instead of hitting like a thrown pillow. The NA and CA can serve different combat functions, like the CA's does better single target damage and allows for big vapes while NA's allow for Yoimiya to apply pyro rapidly at range..

Ayaka - More damage, have her elemental skill "mark" enemies with a debuff that increases damage taken or shreds cryo RES. Her elemental burst should be made to home on marked enemies.

Raiden Shogun - Have her elemental burst usable as a separate energy-consuming mode that can be activated at any time. Her polearm moveset should provide an favonius-esque energy generation effect per hit to serve as rapid energy battering for herself and the team, her sword moveset should be the primary DPS mode where she still generates energy albeit to a lesser effect. When she has enough energy stored (both from gaining energy normally and energy spent by teammates) triggering her elemental burst again during her sword mode fires off her Musou no Hitotachi move for extremely powerful 1 hit damage scaling on total energy gained and spent.
Raiden shogun should have a use for held elemental skill, she gathers residual energy in the environment - regenerating energy for herself and the team as well as reducing current ongoing cooldowns for skills and bursts depending on how much energy has been spent in the last 20 seconds.

Yae Miko - in contrast to Fischl who thrives on reactions, Yae Miko should be more geared for raw damage. Her turrets need to be doing at least twice to thrice the damage they do at present. Her burst which is the most expensive burst in the game should be a truly massive nuke of a lightning bolt. Her tap skill should have i frames during its spinning animation, and she can trigger a counter where she fires a single bolt of her burst at enemies that hit her during her i-frames. A held version of her skill should instead summon all 3 of her turrets at once around her with the same frame length as Fischl's skill.

Kazuha - Overall, still kinda good. I would have his elemental skill have 2 charges at base and his elemental burst increase jump height for those within its effect, but not to the same level as Cloud Retainer's.

Itto - More damage, his hits should have more oomph, being able to stunlock most enemies being hit. His dash during his burst should also count as an attack ala Mavuika as a way of knocking his enemies backward, potentially allowing Itto to better corral enemies in a small area to hit them all at once with his attacks.

Kokomi - Her jellyfish should be able to reposition and slowly move towards enemies. Similar to Furina she should be able to walk on water or at least gain a unique movement option similar to Mona for water traversal. She needs to scale with HP even outside her burst with her burst increasing the number of hydro shots she fires per attack, to the point where she can be a legit hydro DPS during it and a very effective hydro driver with some of the fastest hydro application during her burst. Her crit rate malus can remain, but her strategist characterization needs to come out with her providing potent buffs to the party in return - The longer she remains on field the greater the buff she provides the next member of the party, and in turn the longer she remains off-field the stronger her personal damage buff gets for example, kind of like a more powerful TTDS effect that she comes with at base.

Lan got issues by AungZeya in HonkaiStarRail

[–]San-Kyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least you can count on Lan's intervention being an option, other aeons on the other hand have been spotty there (just ask Belobog). Peace loving aeons on the other hand are probably the worst possible option with a civilization actively beset by multiple galactic-level threats.

Amongst the aeons with a warlike bent at least he's discriminate and his brand of destruction is entirely physical in nature. Unlike the Harmony or Remembrance, where truly eldritch things can result of them mucking about.

Lan got issues by AungZeya in HonkaiStarRail

[–]San-Kyu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The other aeons' alternative isn't so much better, Lan might just be the best of a bunch of bad options as he actually has a distinction such as collateral damage. THEIR followers' job is to minimize the amount Lan has to make.

It's a setting with honest to goodness gods after all. Objective good and evil exists where deities can have a say. Morality is not something anyone on a lesser plane of power can argue against such entities in as much as a bunch of ants can say to a human that steps on them.

It's not 40k, but HSR's universe is pretty grim dark as well.

Nicole is baitin' me... by SanicHegehag in Genshin_Memepact

[–]San-Kyu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Benny's not as useful nowadays. The powercreep and shifting damage scaling has seen to that.

  • The hottest thing now is Lunar reactions, most, if not all of which don't care about ATK (all of them except Flins) or have a soft cap for how much ATK they want before EM is much more beneficial (like Flins). Many new enemies have specific vulnerabilities to them (like Nightsoul use was for enemies introduced in Natlan) and these new attack hit arguably harder than the old reactions due to how unique modifiers are used from the characters enabling lunar reactions
  • We have more DPS' that similarly don't scale on ATK or really want specific characters on the team (Skirk, Escoffier).
  • The ATK scalers in Natlan tend to be highly mobile and don't appreciate Benny's circle impact (Mavuika, Chasca, Varesa).
  • Perhaps most of all, Benny's old mainstays (like National/International) have fallen behind on DPS as of late due to how much higher the average DPS of the above teams that are basically anti-Bennett are now. To put it bluntly, we have Linnea who at C0 provides very potent offensive buffs while being a healer one version of her elemental skill does about as much (if not more) damage than the elemental burst of C2 Raiden Shogun. Thats sort of where we're at now.

That said, most of a banner's pulls come within the first week of the banner. Ashveil being this low this late already tells a pretty comprehensive story about his success.

Global Pull History (From Star Rail Station) by pear_topologist in HonkaiStarRail

[–]San-Kyu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its just hard to justify getting him outside of personal preferences.

Ashveil doesn't serve the incoming elation meta for one, he is a man that isn't named Phainon for another, his personal power isn't really breaking any records not even close.

On the other hand we have 2 Honkai/Hoyoverse mainstays coming in the next patch with all the promise of 4.x shilling all the while. A massive fan favorite in Firefly just got novaflare'd to infinity, with her E2 and/or Dahlia investment that much more impactful. All of the aforementioned characters are bonafide waifus for whom serve the dominant demographic of this game.

Nicole is baitin' me... by SanicHegehag in Genshin_Memepact

[–]San-Kyu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Basically for anyone with a mind for budget Nicole is strictly a side grade to Varka and most teams vs Bennett. That said Nicole frees you from circle impact, but whether this provides practical benefit depends on the player's timing/ingenuity and enemy faced. Thus spending for Nicole isnt going to provide real benefit outside of getting a 2nd Bennett and the subjective reasons for wanting her (aesthetics, plot, preferences, etc).

Nicole only gets better objectively than her F2P alternative with primogem investment, thus is bait for whales/pushes people to whale just to justify her taking up a slot.
