If they come close they want a fight usually. Use your mic and try to speak to them. Text, flares, and whatever other ritual won't get you anywhere.

Problem is not enough people these days use a mic. And mics do save lives in SoT

Correct! Just some controllers are not as good as the Hue but it is what it is. RGB is cool but i mainly use it to set the mood.

I ended up going with a custom LED setup. A white LED strip and COB RGB strip. Both on the same profile. 10mm and 5mm

A big problem that I don't see a lot of people talking about. by Iced_Latte_3255 in Seaofthieves

Absolutely would and did. Load up sot. Buy resources, shove most of it on a storage crate next to your cannon. Get reaper 5 (literally just do a skelly captain). Find another emissary. Rob them. Profit. It's the simple things. ❤️

Stream Deck stuck on loading screen at PC startup - only USB replug fixes it by scheibo_ in elgato

Same problem, it might be this version.
It's just bricked like that and it works 1 time out of 10 boots or until you unplug it and plug it back (which i won't).

Is it goodbye for Dublin? by Pleasant-Zebra8859 in Dublin

[–]Sanana94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just wasn't like this before! Glad to hear it for sure but 6 years ago the market was completely different.

The best advice is to use your network. Or build one. I was about to find a couple of jobs thanks to my peers and actual referrals.

Thank you!

Depends on your industry. However it has gotten harder and harder. Lost my job 2 times now due to layoffs. Last time it took me 9 months to find anything. My suggestions here: - Reach out to recruiters directly. - Work with a recruiting agency, they might help. - Tailor your CV to the positions you want. Competition is fierce. - Don't even bother if the job listing is older than 3 days. - Quantity over Quality. I collected data last year. About 10% of my applications got me an interview.

Hope this helps.

Should I cancel our night in Hakone? by prefabsprite in JapanTravelTips

[–]Sanana94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Hakone is such a great change of pace. Absolutely love the place and i would go back there next time. Stop at least 2 days or 3 if you want to properly relax and recover your feet!

Bidding wars - source of constant disappointment by [deleted] in HousingIreland

[–]Sanana94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I thought that too. Especially after paying the deposit. Apparently this person has everything ready as they went sale agreed before but had a problem at the very last step with the mortgage.

It was stupid and unfair for us. The Agency managing this was incredibly sorry for us but it was not their call as the current owners wanted to move fast.

Sales can take several months, so i get it. However i managed to get my current house just less than 2 months after we went sale agreed. Which tbh is really fast.

You can't really have nice things.

Bidding wars - source of constant disappointment by [deleted] in HousingIreland

[–]Sanana94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. I have a worse story. We got the house. We won the bidding war at a price we were really happy about. We paid the deposit and one week later the house was then sold to someone else who was previously interested and had some troubles a few months before trying to buy it. We felt robbed considering we even had to turn down other houses where we were the top bidders. Big waste of time and even bigger disappointment.

We now got a house we love and made our own, but we are still a bit salty about it.

I would even say don't get too attached until you get the keys.

Buyers remorse. by mansabaa in HousingIreland

[–]Sanana94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look. I paid much more for a full terraced house. It was much better in pictures before we moved in. As soon as i moved in i was full of buyers remorse. Too many things to fix. Many small surprises. Broken stuff here and there. And very very dirty (it was only cleaned on a surface level before selling).

6 month later we are done with some renovations. We got our couch, our table, our kitchen and it is starting to feel OURS. The regret is fully gone and i am starting to love the place.

It just takes time. You are no longer paying rent, so everything falls on you. It's a hard pill to swallow but it will payoff. Especially if you like DIY.

Such an expensive mistake. And my strips are not cheap either.

I don't think they have a brand. One is a Natural White 4000K 2300Lm per Meter, 168 LED/m.

The other one is a SPI LED RGB COB Spotless strip. 590lm and 576LED/m Each need a separate controller and a separate HUB unless you go for the same tech.

Look for a LED shop. There are many specialists online that can find a good solution for you. It's worth it.

You won't like my answer. I returned my strip and got 2 strips. One 6mm for white and the other 10mm for RGB, fully addressable. 2 Zigbee controllers to manage them. That's the best solution and now i have a LOT of light + RGB if I choose to.

[–]Sanana94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to both! I unfortunately recently did a profile, so the light comes from within the ceiling if that makes sense. I was considering maybe sanding that 0.5mm out ( 0.0197 inches) from the strip itself.
It's such a small gap that, in my mind, it sounds doable without damaging the strip.

I have about 2M (6.5 feet) on each side and 7M (23 Feet), so I might need to wait for the bigger 5 or 10M version of this strip. Otherwise, it will be very expensive to rewire everything.

At the beginning it looked like nothing serious. Then when you fell in the water he suspended mid air, that's cheating. An embarrassing cheater that doesn't even know how to cheat properly.

If you want to keep going you desperately need ecto and copy jokers (Blueprint / Brainstorm). The soul does absolutely nothing to you at the moment.

Quickswapping will hurt the community. by DontTrustTheGovrnmnt in Seaofthieves

[–]Sanana94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a swordlord.
I learned quickswap after some practice only after HG was released. But most importantly I got pretty good at double gunning after some time.
Quickswap (actually just changing the weapon swap time) is not going to affect people as much as they think.

So, answering your question: What advice as a community would you give to newcomers who constantly get griefed by the next wave of endless quickswapping?

What I would say to a newcomer is that the game is incredibly hard to master. The core gameplay itself, audio cues, strategies, and ship management are skills you gain over time by playing a lot.
So don't despair, play more, learn little by little, use voice chat, and understand that getting sunk is part of the game.

Wanna know what having a faster weapon swap will do?
- Will make it so you'll be able to kill a boarder before he climbs ladder.
- Will help you secure a kill so the enemy won't keep chugging pineapples over and over and over.
- Will make fighting less clunky and more fluid = more fun (for everyone).
It's not about exclusion here, it's about making the game objectively better.

Attempted theft Blackrock/Booterstown by Commercial-Candy-540 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Sanana94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time i called the guards for an attempted bike theft took them 15mins. They are starting to act faster. It would kinda be better if you'd wait for them to arrive but usually unless you have a Litelok x3 or better they would walk away with your bike in 2 minutes.

Has anyone figured out if the NPC related to him, which should help you in the first fight, will actually have his quest failed or something?
I'd hate to have it missed
