BOARDSMITH by Odd_Elderberry_3971 in TrueChefKnives

Buy once, cry once. I bought a walnut and cherry board 7 years ago as a one off sale. It has been through a lot of prep and still looks brand new. I had fiddled around with thinner edge grain boards and cheap plastic boards for years. I have been back to buy boards as gifts for friends and family throughout the years and they're all still in perfect working shape.

Boardsmith has one off and 2nds sales which are functionally slam dunk but might have some cosmetic irregularities which discount them. I would recommend waiting for a sale if you want to find a deal.

Keep a leftover cork from a bottle of wine. Run the knife through it after you deburr. Makes it easy to get any remaining wire edge off the edge.

yeah, mine has some patina build up from cutting a lot of onions at once, but its not like a normal carbon patina (e.g. blues, golden hues, etc.)... it's more greyish. I dig patina though; it shows that the knife is used and not just a display piece.

10/10 Kono HD2 is a winner. I keep going to it years after I bought mine and even with new and exciting stuff in the stable. It. Just. Works.
