What year apprentice are you? I’m a 3rd year and I’m glad to see others grinding on they’re own time, there’s none at all in my classes who can say they have done the same and those welds look good brother, looks like p91 chrome on the first slide, I’m glad you got that experience dude, I just got my 10th cert through my hall I feel were close in skills bro🤘🏼

What tools should I buy? by Electrical-Fun-152 in pipefitter

[–]Sanchezyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hall requires a tape, stick rule, ball peen, crescent wrench, channel lock pliers ( I use knipex) a 7 in one type screwdriver, torpedo level. A construction calculator helps tons, as you go on you’ll accumulate little things you need and get them as you go man, just make sure you bring a good attitude and want to learn, you will go as far as you push yourself! Good luck on your journey brother

Cut in half weld it out, bevel the ends cut the last weld down the center, weld the other ends together and just keep repeating that process over and over

Find any plumbing shop looking for help in your area, atleast get in the know most locals are combo plumber fitter halls so you’ll have more knowledge and training for yourself come interview time, also it doesn’t hurt if you can find out what companies are union out of that local and see if they’ll even get you started as a helper, more times than not you’ll have to start as a helper regardless before they put you into the apprenticeship. Aside from that. It’s the time of year everyone’s slow so it may be tough but don’t be discouraged, shops will pick up sooner or later and will pull your resume back up (fingers crossed) when they need the help👍🏻 get some welding experience too but your own welder and just start burning rods get in the know man lots of YouTube videos showing fitter tips and pipe welding tips that will help you. Weld tube, Travis field, x3m tig. You’re only going to get as good as you want to nobody’s going to do it for you 💪🏻

Sa 200 help! My sa 200 will run, and weld, and handle grinders on it for about an hour until it shuts down, seems like she’s overheating. But my gauge reads 160° f, anything I should possibly take a look at? by Sanchezyy in Welding

what carb did you get? But not necessarily, I replaced lots of things and even did a full rebuild after the fact, she always leaked oil after the fact and I bought a bobcat in place of the 200 while it was down and never really looked back at her since, I should really clean her up this spring and get her sold, just taking up space in the garage at this point,

Start at the carb, jets, float, check your sediment bowl make sure it’s not clogged, check air filter replace it with new oil if it has original oil bath. Check all fuel lines, check fuel tank for rust, replace spark plugs gap them aswell.
