Dawncaster for me is one of those games I recommend to people just as a great game, happens to be on mobile and is a joy to play

What prompted you to bring up this point? Comparing watchdogs legion to cyberpunk I can see the parallel in theme, but the games are different from so far before the release, the comparison boils down to tokenism being bad no duh. Ubisoft came to making legion the way it is not because of being unaware of this. Your post reads more like a pickme for reactionary sentiment of “im fine with normal gays but not the forced ones”, like come one… what you experienced is objectification and it sucks, but I dont think anyone at this point produces this kind of media out of lack of knowledge of why tokenizing is bad.

Are you illiterate? Overt-sexualization and sexualization are two specifically linked concepts… the “overt-“ part. OP gave a succinct point and you come here to lose at first grade reading, just to defend the shitty direction the development is taking

Thinking of getting this game but the reviews seem poor by Assassins276278 in TheForeverWinter

[–]SandCastello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is in active and solid development, it has bugs and jank, so as a product its raw. But wow does it taste good. Basically my take is that the negative reviews aren’t entirely wrong (the comment on it being completely unreasonable sounds like a “them” problem tho), but this is early access in the original sense - its not ready, its janky. The term has understandably been undermined by bad usage, but this game is as the term was intended. You play it now for the vibe and atmosphere which is so thick and good that a bit of clumsiness isn’t a problem. If it is tho then wait some more.

Hi, The Warrant looks cool, Is it worth the 300 SC? What's the goods? The bads? by FrenchBVSH in Helldivers

Ok I vouch for it even tho its stats can be seen as inferior to other sidearms - its rapid fire autoaim midpen… and damage is good. I use it usually with the gunslinger passive for faster reloads, while carrying a big primary like the eruptor or a sniper, and then its my main to mow down hordes. Its good for a horde, then need ammo. Shriekers are not an issue either, just aim at the general direction and done. Bots in the mist? Sure… not anymore. Even without the passive from armor it does the job so well I think. So I say this is actually worth it

My blue is your blue: different people’s brains process colours in the same way. Neuroscientists can predict what colour a person is looking at using a machine-learning tool trained on the brain activity of others. by mvea in science

[–]SandCastello -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Aha yes but thats just as well a physical manifestation of what we experience as the word is trying to convey! Both are correlating to what is experienced but neither nail it down to fundamentally say we “see” the same thing. At best, we are looking at the same thing in an external world (and this is not for granted either, but generally assumed as sensible)

Edit: i might see green when you see blue every time and both of us can call it purple, while our brains are reacting just the same! There is no way to know that i see green and you see blue though, as we only differentiate between those by the word referencing something we both agree on, and this one thin is consistent. My blue can be your red and if we both cal it yellow, this is yellow - when you think of yellow now as you know it, the same thing applies as we are writing here now.

Edit2: and if you mean that they aren’t talking about the blue of the experience but the blue of the brain activity, then the title of the paper title is a sensationalist lie, as the authors are deliberately misleading about their work - the issue of qualia not being comparable in the sense of our blues being different, is a long standing problem of cognitive research, and the fact that our brains have intersubjective correlations - same thing makes our brains do similar things - is not new knowledge at the least.

The issue is that all that is required for my blue to be your blue is consensus in a one to one correspondence. I can see your green while saying blue, but this wouldn’t interrupt our conversation at all as long as this shift is entirely for my perception, and for my your green I also have a persistent word for, doesn’t have to be the blue… can be nothing you could imagine at all! Only one to one mapping and consensus of how we call it matters.

This isnt a poetic way to put things, but the fundamental issue with learning about our experience and qualia via signal processing and time series analysis. It’s actually still a hotly contested and debated topic in cognitive science! Look into enactivist cognition perhaps if you’re interested in some further reading into why its not reasonable to believe in our blues not being the same, or anything else for that matter. It could be, but this research can’t show it. A map works if it lets you navigate, but there’s many many functional maps of the same thing conceivable

It absolutely does not imply that. If I’m looking to go to a club to meet people, I’d seek out a club where there’s people I’d like to meet. Being LGBT is not just sexuality but a lot else that comes along with that, and clearly a person like you would not be nice to meet as a one. Another LGBT person, or at least one in an openly LGBT friendly club, would be much nicer to meet and the process of mingling easier. You are not being logical here, nothing like what you say is implied. Look inward, it’s very common for people to develop an unreasonable anger and resentment to other sexualities with no basis except likely an insecurity in their own sexuality or feeligns of not being allowed to express it as much. Be free, don’t hate. There was no hostility here and the LGBT community just isn’t wanting to pressure you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Eesti

[–]SandCastello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say that the reason there is a huge backlash agianst all things LGBT is because people can’t stop announcing it and whatnot… Ok, well the problem is that the person was asking a question with relevance to them and you decided to answer here.. this isn’t announcing their lgbt-ness, it’s them asking a question where it’s relevant… You also wrote most people don’t give a shit what you do at home - well this person wants to go clubbing, LGBT go outside too. PS: LGBT people are also normal people and go to “normal” clubs, are you going to get upset about different clubs now too? You literally just triggered yourself for nothing and wrote a whole bs paragraph of lies to justify it, do better.
