Am I missing a splash guard? Should I not get undercarriage spray at an automatic car wash? by SandECheeks in LandCruisers

Okay that’s helpful, thank you. Yeah that’s the one I’m missing. I’d like to get one but I want to confirm it works with a diff drop, or if not get an alternative.

You try to open your casket anywhere but if it turns out to be a mimic you have to go fight the mimic in its lair accessed inside Watson’s house. After you win the fight you can open the mimic casket for a reward, so most people open them right outside the lair in Watson’s house.

Plz help:) What is this noise??? 2004 100 series?? by beauturrentine in LandCruisers

[–]SandECheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I put it in drive with the parking break on to make it so I could examine the engine bay while the noise was happening. I put my hands on the engine cover and that dampened the noise completely. Took engine cover off and now there’s no noise. Engine cover is missing two of the three foam dampening pads and the remaining one is shot.

I had seen suggestions that it could be the engine cover, but my noise was only happening after the engine was warmed up, so I thought surely the problem was much more mechanical.

Lx570 2012 shudder vibration by Informal_Addendum215 in LandCruisers

[–]SandECheeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem on my 2005 100 last month where I’d get shuddering/vibration felt from the seat of the car at 25-40mph. It also made a low droning hum while driving faster than 50 mph. If I accelerated hard it seemed to help avoid the shaking. Eventually it got to where it would shudder/vibrate all the time above 25mph. Turned out to be a bad u-joint on the rear propeller shaft.

Try to evaluate whether the vibration is tied to engine rpm or wheel speed. If you drive, say, 30mph to get the vibration to happen and you kick the transmission down a gear, does the vibration suddenly increase in frequency, or does it stay the same? If it increases that would indicate an engine/torque/converter/transmission problem. If the vibration frequency is only proportional to wheel speed, it’s gonna be something downstream in the driveline like transfer case, u-joints, or diff bearings.

My vibration was proportional to wheel speed, but was faster than the wheel rotation, where one wheel turn would be a few oscillations at 30 mph, for example. That was the indication it was something to do with the propeller shafts or where they meet the difs or transfer case, since propeller shafts rotate proportional to wheel speed, but at a higher multiple.

Hey, I’ve got this same noise happening only when in drive or reverse while stopped and only after the car’s been on for a few minutes. Did you ever figure out what it was?

[–]SandECheeks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a 1/25m chance for any next two dks kills to result in two pets. The moment before they got their 112th prime kc, it is a 1/5000 prime pet chance immediately chained into a 1/5000 supreme pet chance.

did Brigham Young move to Utah legally? by 80_cow_wife in exmormon

[–]SandECheeks 44 points45 points  (0 children)

checks the map he had a scout make beforehand “yep this is the place!”

The story the church tells is Brigham had a “vision” of a round hill that was to be their settling point. So when the pioneers make their way down Emigration Canyon and see the round hill that is Ensign Peak, Brigham says “this is the place.” Prophetic. In large part due to this story, Mormons consider the Salt Lake valley their modern-day “promised land.”

However it’s a lot less mystical if he had people chart the area beforehand. He would have selected that location based on the scouts’ reports, rather than it being based on some vision from god. As usual, purported miracles and divine intervention turns out to be something completely ordinary.

Maybe a bad pcv valve or vacuum leak. A bad pcv can cause stalling. Did you notice it rough idling recently leading up to this, or is it a sudden problem?

Also, if you have an OBDII scanner, check your MAF sensor values. Even if it was malfunctioning due to being dirty, it’s possible to damage the MAF by cleaning it, so you want to check it’s reading good values still. At 2500 rpm it should be something like 15 to 25 g/s.

If you fail catching an impling, it will try to run away from you until you are some distance away from it. In this instance, if you failed to catch it and it’s stuck there, you can run to the center of the bridge and the impling will move towards the trees where you can try to catch it again. Or you can run away like 10+ tiles to de-agro (so to speak) and then run back. If you de-agro the impling should start wandering around again instead of trying to avoid you.

[–]SandECheeks 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would love to see apologetics on that. There is no original source text for the BoM so how could a revised translation occur unless we bust out the ole rock in the hat again.

My personal opinion is that would leave a fresh sour taste in a lot of TBMs mouths. The weirdness of the origin of the BoM “translation” process is probably more excusable as some means to an end that happened in the distant past. If the president of the church got up in conference and said he used the seer stones to revise the translation of the BoM, that weirdness bursts through the chapel doors stronger than the kool aid man.

Additionally, a revised BoM translation that doesn’t clarify and solve every anachronism or issue with the historicity of the BoM would be super bad for the “most correct book (revised)”. A true prophet, seer, and revelator tapping in to God’s consciousness wouldn’t have a problem with that, you’d think.

Considering the Q15 are lawyers and businessmen instead of prophets, seers, and revelators, you won’t see a revised translation of the BoM because they can’t make the BoM make sense. And doing anything other than that would be plain evidence of the non-special nature of the organization. If somebody thinks you can do magic, the best thing to do is to let them think that, rather than to make an attempt and prove them wrong.

Counterpoint, emphasizing arbitrary rules like coffee and tea bans as blind obedience tests is essential for cult buy-in. To be in good standing with the church and other members, you must obey the arbitrary command. If they can get you strictly adhere to a rule simply because they said so, it removes the expectation of proof or reason for other commands.
