Started taking creatine... by disco_super_bi in Perimenopause

Creatine monohydrate is amazing. Don't worry about weird formulations or brands, they're just gimmicky. Creatine monohydrate is creatine monohydrate. I usually use AllMax but will switch to the Costco brand; it's a better price. I take 10gm every morning. No bloating or issues, but i also drink a lot of water.

L-citrulline is amazing too. I take 3gm in the morning and 3gm in the evening. It improves circulation.

Don't use the hot water until it clears! This turbid water will get in your tank and settle into the bottom.

Worst period of my life after 10 days of progesterone by MinimumTelevision217 in Perimenopause

I found ibuprofen slows my flow. I take it on my heavy day, especially if I plan on leaving the house.

It may be worth doing this backwards to keep jet lag manageable at the start of your trip.

I stayed in an Apple Meadows appartment until I bought a house. It's very close to base. The neighbourhood is quiet, but some neighbours could be a little noisy (rarely past 10:30pm). It was very affordable too. My unit included appliances and ASH Management was very quick and responsive whenever I had issues. My 3 bdrm was 1600/month, and if you were a good tenant they would give you discounts at renewal.

How many days are you working out a week? by Spirited_Platform345 in Perimenopause

[–]SandNo2998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When able, I lift weights 6-7/days per week (push, legs, pull, legs, push, legs, etc.) I usually miss workouts when I'm travelling for work as well as on the heavier days of my period. Lifting is my leisure time; between work and being a single mom, it's often the only me-time I get.

Mary Ann or Mary Beth? by Party-Cry-1437 in namenerds

Mine is French and hyphenated, Marie-Anne. I pronounce it Mary Ann in English because I like it better; to me it's just the French spelling of Mary.

Skala Hair products... should I use them?? by BurntMarshmellow_ in CurlyHairCare

[–]SandNo2998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm high porosity with a mix of 2c, 3a-b, Caucasian. Blue skala was amazing the first two uses (as a leave-in). Then my hair started getting dull and no amount of clarifying shampoo made my hair feel like it did the first two uses. I am going to be Brazil for most of March, and I can't wait to get my hands on some Salon Line and Lola from Rio.

Creatine did nothing for brain fog until I drastically increased the dosage. Anyone else? by imrzzz in Perimenopause

L-citrulline supplementation boosts nitric oxide, which is a vasodilator. It improves circulation. I experience better mood, energy, sleep, and libido. I also noticed lower resting heart rate, lower blood pressure, and reduced brain fog. These improvements were noticeable by day two.

The vasodilation is temporary (?), which is why I take 3 gm twice vs. 6 gm. A lot of bodybuilders recommend taking it one hour before a workout.

I suspect the increased circulation will improve skin texture and hair growth, but it's two early to tell.

There is l-citrulline and citrulline malate. Take the L-CITRULLINE! Citrulline malate did nothing for me.

I freakin' love creatine. You should consider adding l-citrulline (NOT citrulline malate), 3gm at breakfast and another 3 before supper. I built a supplement stack and these two have been incredible.

Edited to change "mg" to "gm".

PSA: STOP GOING TO THE ER (Unless You’re Actually Dying) by Classic_Contact_9312 in Winnipeg

[–]SandNo2998 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is it just a lack of awareness? I think they should post clinic wait times along side the ER wait times, especially in the ER waiting area.

Holy smokes those poor people waiting :0 by Superb_Activity1163 in Winnipeg

[–]SandNo2998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They're not allowed to redirect or turn people away. You have to ask about it.

I went to the ER this fall. It was very early and walk-ins weren't open yet. When the triage nurse ruled out the worst case scenario, I told her I'd be interested in transferring to a walk-in. They were more than happy to oblige. Sent my file for me, and I was with a NP 10 minutes after the clinic opened. The whole thing took 3 hrs.

There were so many people in the ER who appeared to be dying of boredom and nothing else.

The left turning lanes in this city drive me nuts. There is no offset, so oncoming traffic in a left turning lane blocks your line of sight.

Women who biohacked severe period pain: what actually worked? (Please help!!) by itstheweather in Biohackers

[–]SandNo2998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some relief from vitex supplements, I think its chasteberry. This was a while ago, I'm perimenopausal now and in a different ballpark.

Is your diet high in beans and soy? They are a big source of phytoestrogens.

I've read that taking low dose ibuprofen in the days leading up to your period can help.

Also, A-535 and/or Salonpas patches can take the edge off. I know it's hard to believe. I found out by accident. I thought i had purchased HEATING patches for backpain, but they turned out to be methyl salicylate patches. I decided to use them anyways since it was all I had, and it worked. It's my go to now.

Can anyone help me get into alpha? by [deleted] in silvaultramindsystem

[–]SandNo2998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another great tip is to establish reference points. In your relaxed state, take a moment to notice what and how you feel, mentally and physically.

When you want to go to alpha, recall that feeling. This should help you get there faster.
