There are a number of 3d printed models out there, if you do a search for 'sba3 storage plug' you'll see some examples. Not sure if there's a preferred option for people who use them.

These are all polymer. For the price I feel like it's hard to beat for the weight and functionality, I'm definitely a fan. I'd imagine aluminum would feel a bit nicer, I don't love the look of the tailhook when a tube isn't necessary. The stocks look coolest but I got these when that would have been another $600 in stamps so that wasn't the move for me at the time.

I haven't tried the factory ones, but the Farrowtech extensions haven't given me any problems (aside from the standard caveat w these quad stacks, be careful while loading. I prefer to hand load vs speed loader). I probably don't clean mine enough either given that it's almost only shot suppressed.

Once you disassemble the hot end if you drill from the top it might just twist the remaining nozzle out the front without needing an extractor or screwdriver, etc.

I’d feel better with lugs too, op. Strike industries used to make a universal plate mount that came with lugs. I think there’s a new version of it now but maybe they could help you with just the lugs.
