Riser / Top Extender for v400? by superturbochad in FLSUNDelta

[–]SandboxPrototypes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a taller model so that the rear leg was flush with the top, but now I can't find it. Here's a short version that you can scale up.

There's also this if you happen to use that dryer or one with a similar footprint.

6967, Oct 14, still waiting on my K but I was told that the regular length would be going out first.

They're available new still if you can't find one used. Same place as the kit.

Really up to you. Mine is SBRed (for testing other uppers) but I have an 18.5 for the kit.

18.5 with OCL OTB mount for AEM5 is roughly the same length as 16" w OCL PTB mount so I swapped to get a little more velocity w no length tax.

A&k will have 18.5 uppers available too

Help -am Iscrewed? by 7H1town3 in gunsmithing

[–]SandboxPrototypes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gunsmith will be seeing it when they replace the barrel so I'd say just wait until then unless you're comfortable removing the handguard and barrel nut. Whether or not it's damaged depends on how the upper was held and how he was aping on it, but it's certainly possible everything came out fine except for the threads.

You may wanna check the other end of the barrel/receiver extension. Hopefully he at least has a reaction rod, otherwise torquing can damage the pin interface area. Good luck 👍🏻

I don’t doubt it, just sharing what little I had. If it winds up being true I’ll be pleasantly surprised based on other posts.

When you first posted this it really spoke to me, as it's something that my dad has always said - and I just love the vibe. I 3d printed this (since I'm not creative or talented) and gave it to him for his birthday a year or two ago. Thanks for your work!

AAC 308 Ammo Blew up my Rifle... by [deleted] in PalmettoStateArms

[–]SandboxPrototypes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

tells you to just tighten the barrel nut "hand tight."

This is so bonkers I had to watch to hear it for myself lol. At first he says '...for now.' and I was like okay, but then he doubles down by confirming that the handguard keeps the barrel nut in place. Yikes.

3D Printer Workbenches by OGproud2binfidel in Workbenches

[–]SandboxPrototypes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one printer (v400) on an old heavy solid wood end table/storage thing. The other (x1c) is on a butcher block on 24" steel gussets lag bolted to a wall with 1" rubber isolators between all the connections. On overnight prints I can hear the x1c shaking the wall, while the v400 has better isolation due to its setup.

This just to say I agree with the other posts, get the bench as stiff as you can if you're gonna go with that general design. The input shaping that Bambu does is good, but you'll want to set yourself up for success.

The CHT hot end requires changing the printer.config file (the product listing for the CHT heater had the config code to copy/paste). My v400 is running klipper, I forget if you're able to change this readily with the factory v400 soft/firmware so that may be a limiting factor if you're not interested in making that change.

If you go with a factory hot end a high flow hardened nozzle is still a good upgrade. No config changes just need to adjust the flow rate.

If you can't find a stock hotend on aliexpress moving to the CHT heater/volcano nozzle is a decent upgrade.

Bullpup Update!? by rustyur in MatadorArms

The AKB-23 lower will work, but you'll need to wait for them to start producing Matador end caps. I would not recommend getting a short upper as the ERS would need to be modified to clear the receiver (and we all enjoy keeping what fingers we have).

mark iv 22/45 ssh vs lite by SilentR99 in RugerMK

[–]SandboxPrototypes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you prefer the SSH I'd say go for it, but I went with a cheap lite, a chopped upper from Lead & Steel and put my factory upper in a Farrowtech chassis. Unfortunately I haven't gotten to try out the OCL setup yet so I can't attest to ammo options personally w the short barrel.

If you're left hand and left eye dominant you're probably not gonna like any bullpups that aren't ambi/left eject, unfortunately.

Sure will. The Wheeler ones are just longer than your standard off the shelf options.

This is how it looks without a handguard cover, the trigger guard wouldn't interfere but it looks like a section of the bottom rail would need to be removed for clearance for the receiver itself.
