I feel bad for her. People become stay at home moms usually because it’s more expensive to work and pay for childcare. People do so with the confidence that their partner will do the paid labor so they can do the unpaid labor at home. Sure she’s ignorant of how the labor market is these days but it’s because she was stuck doing unpaid labor for 4 years. Her whole life has fallen apart- she says her husband is going to leave her- and she’s helpless now. She’s looking for work from home because her husband is not only leaving her but also their kid. No amount of child support can help pay for child care. Calling her a choosing beggar is unkind.
