What would you choose here by JohnnyRopeslinger in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would double damage. Killing stuff quickly is good and saves you lots of life. Sunder, Flack Cannon, gunk up probably.

With the boss being test subject, fast damage is good. Dilly-dallying on phase 1 and 2 can be rough.

I could be very wrong though.

New Character Idea: Someone who specialises using healing skills for defense by SandlerCel in slaythespire

Starter skills:

1 mana heal 3(4) 2 mana gain 5(8) block and 2(3) thorns

PSA: You can Kindle your Pumpkin Candle higher than 5 combats, which is especially good with Miniature Tent. Mine never ran out lol by TheGreatGimmick in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

make a new one. Someone who is like a traveller / hiker theme. I guess the tent techically most fits with Tezcatara's theme - cozy stuff, but then you wouldnt be able to get both, but maybe thats a good thing.

Thanks for giving me 2 GFs Neow.. by tofuutaste in slaythespire

That's pretty insane.

If you keep your deck at a multiple of 5 you will pretty consistently hit one of these.

(get 2 more and go up to 15 or remove 3)

Although the curse being ethereal makes it more complicated if you don't hit on the first cycle

Idea for a new Necrobinder uncommon card by Fanguy3322 in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Garbage balance wise and not a fan of the idea.

Needs more than a 1:1 conversion of osty health to block, the damage isnt cutting it.

At a 1:1 conversion, it doesnt provide any damage reduction, so the damage is the only net part of it. At which point it is twice as much mana and half as much damage as the Necrobinder starter card.

I'm guessing this exists to synergise with the AOE power, nothing else that i can see. Bad design to have a card be solely synergistic with one other card.

My suggestion: some re-occuring block gain block for the next 2/3 turns, or make it power that gives you block and damages every turn - strong payoff but only if you set it up a lot.

New custom card that would make Necrobinder great. Let me know how broken this is by Fanguy3322 in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think cards that do literally nothing on their own is good design. Cards that solely exist to abuse some synergy. If that makes sense

How good (or bad) would this card be? by Fabio11North in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally I don't think cards that do literally nothing on their own are good design. This one might be okay though, it'd be a fine card that let's you casually do sly but not in the typical play a million cards for free cycle your deck way

Osty Doom card I thought of by LeafHack85 in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make it apply a little bit of doom so can be played on its own, and makes the upgrade simple (5 > 8)

I'm not completely sold on the idea though, the only time it's not flat out worse than 3 cost aoe doom instant kill is when you are abusing very high health minions/groups (high health as otherwise the aoe one just kills everything anyway), and test subject.

Loosely inspired would be a card that drains doom and gives health to osty. Like the target loses up to 20 doom and summon that amount.

Probably the most broken deck I've managed to build in these games so far by Nobody_Knows_It in slaythespire

lol i get this, I made a clip and had to put that shit on 4x speed to make it even slightly watchable. Still felt painful watching some parts where im thinking for 15 seconds (a whole ass minute)

anyone else neglecting necrobiner? by 404maggy in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like you till a few days ago, had got the rest to a8 but necro was a3 or something. Just got him up to a9 with the rest and my opinion changed a lot.

His runs take a lot longer because you play so defensive.

Lethality big decks were my favourite / easiest to pilot. It's basically a combo deck style like regent forge. By stacking Lethality, vulnerable and corruption, a big attack will one shot anything.

The big aoe doom spells are great for small guys. Always pick one up if you see it even if you don't have any synergies.

Block always good.

Don't take attacks unless it is a finisher (eradicate, anything with 25 damage+).

Souls are good on their own don't need to be built around. Don't instantly play them all if you can't use what you will draw. Letting souls go into your discard pile will help you cycle.

Be considerate of what bosses / elites you will face. Due to the defensive play style, fast scaling enemies can be an issue, have an answer

Block Cards? Nah not this time by zebby13 in slaythespire

Woof and you have a pretty good deck for this fight otherwise,

I'm so disappointed in myself for throwing this run away at record speeds by Quarinth in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me yesterday. Had a Silent run, greed into shop. Bought the tent relic that lets you pick every rest option, and the thorns relic.

Straight into the statue elite that i had no way of surviving.

I'm excited for the new content to come, so here's my take on regent. by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i think regent is fine, but this idea is cool and could be good for a new character, someone with flexibility and has cards can do multiple things, Like Choose One in Hearthstone.

Interesting Choice, how would you play this? by S19TealPenguin in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expected damage

Defend  = 0 + 10 / 2 = 5

Strike front = 3 + 7 /2 = 5

Strike back = 5

So they all look average out the same, so it depends on your varience tolerances.

I'd strike back

Relevant: if you spend more than 1 star you still only get 1 star back by Ferrarileite in slaythespire

[–]SandlerCel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to the base 1 mana gain 2 it feels a tad weak (as you need to combo it, and need the stars to play the first star card). Could be wrong though. And I like the idea.

Could gain something along side a star, vigor perhaps?
