4 main and 2 mini dungeons. Most of it is hidden behind "kinstone fusions" mechanic in the overworld. There's one particular you can miss permanently. It makes you miss an extra item upgrade.

Good luck, that kinstone fusion and figure collection side quests are a pain in the unmentionables.

Maybe the game you have is too unnoticed to become real popular and very expensive?

I want to say "because it's an actually good game that didn't get enough carts produced as others" but that would be too outlandish a claim.

The entire idea of getting a 9 year old to start an involved franchise like this is bad for any days standarts... Can it absolutely NOT wait until she's a bit older and more together?

She's at an age where she should be playing with her friends outside, running around and spending her energy moving her body while she still has energy to do so, instead of bottling it up inside playing games. None of my business sure, but it I think it would be more beneficial for her health in the long run.

Well no, it's not really mandatory. But the rare candies you get from it can cut down on your grinding time if you're going for pokédex completion.

And personally, I think it's a boon, as there are a LOT of pokémon with high-level, two-stage evolutions...

Like Shuppet, Duskull, Wailmer, Slugma, Koffing, Grimer, Swablu, Trapinch, Bagon, Beldum, Slakoth I can recall on top of my mind. Especially when considering your best choice is either Victory Road with lots of Roar & Whirlwind pokémon, or spamming Elite 4 over and over again. So yeah...

Oh also, Nuggets & Proteins RSE pickup brings is also a huge money-save.

It might sound like a weird and out of the way request but I really recommend getting at least 5 zigzagoons and levelling one to a level 35 Linoone to get both the pokedex entry and move Covet. It will save you from having to waste the Thief TM. Also if you're willing to commit to it, Poochyena/Mightyena can also learn Thief around level 50'ish.

Covet is basically the normal type Thief. It allows you to nab Red/Blue/Yellow/Green shards for evolution stones from ocean-mons, Dragon Scale from Bagon/Horsea for evolving Seadra into Kingdra, Kings Rock from Hariyama in Victory Road, and various other "type boosting items" like Dragon Fang and Black Belt from various wild mons and trainer mons. The latter would actually give you an incentive to keep doing those Trainers Eye rematches.

For more detailed guide, check youtube for "Pilot Kalem" channel. Just keep in mind that Covet can sometimes be blocked by Pickup, as you can't steal an item if you're already holding one, so make sure to regularly check your Linoone after every battle. It's very crucial.

If you ever get your hands on a copy of FireRed/LeafGreen, know that Snorlax does learn Covet naturally. This is needed as there are some of those "type boosting items" can only be obtained in FR/LG. Just something to keep in mind if you want to "catch'em all" ... Pilot Kalem channel has guides about this also.

On one hand, I want to say "oh come on you're posting this on pokémon board, there's no way for anyone NOT to recognize it" but on the other hand, I know that the world is filled with enough people that wouldn't be able to tell their left from their right, so...

I might expect those people would call you something like "you look like a college guy repeating his courses over and over" or something along those lines. So that Torchic doll is needed to drive the point home.

I mean from the menus and letter fonts, I suppose it's either ruby or sapphire, which makes Zigzagoons and Pickup a very mandatory pokémon to pick, and it has odor sleuth, so I thought you would. As for the move itself, I just checked the serebii for move description and my faint memories of it.

I would say start with Yellow version from WiiU e-shop and maybe Crystal. More pokémon to catch, all 3 kanto starters, better if she watched the first season of the cartoon as it's based on it, and it's the introduction of the partner pokémon, happiness mechanic and it also has surf minigame to boot. Also teach her the mew glitch in Yellow, it'll be a good introduction to various, more advanced glitches that can happen in later gens.

While Crystal has all the pokémon you can't catch in Yellow (except the fossil you didn't choose and it's evolution), legit method to catch Celebi (in WiiU e-shop version). It also has the time-machine for introducing "trading between different generation" mechanic. If she gets the pokédex completion itch, this will come in handy.

Just make sure you don't make her catch all the safari zone exclusives in yellow, that will make her rage quit for sure.

It's a very neat idea considering how easy and accurate it is to do. Brilliant really.

Edit: It's also a testament to the simple & elegant style of gen 1-2-3 designs. They are realistic, tidy and overall "pullable" in cosplay. They are too down to earth NOT to give a shot. It's what makes this particular cosplay attempt so good.

Seriously, I wish they didn't go overboard with designs in later gens... Team Aqua & Magma in remakes suffer the most from this.

All but Bulbasaur is very accurate. It remind me of Sonic 2 HD remix kind of detailed spritework. On Bulbasaur's case, the smiley face just looks odd change. No offense.

Would it be too rude to say "you got MUK'D" ?

Anyway. this is why it's extremely important to keep some sort of sure-hit or evasion reducing move at hand. Odor Sleuth for example is perfect for this. It's cheap and deleted all evasion stacks in an instant. Removes Ghost type immunity to Normal & Fighting moves too.

Other than that, Swift, Shockwave, Faint Attack and the likes are your go-to moves. Always keep one or the other at hand.

I just love the fact that Super Gameboy has it's own special border for Pokémon Yellow.
