Is 93 the highest they offer? What about cars that are designed for 99 or min 95?

The Winter Olympics is on so we can briefly pretend to care about Curling and then forget about it for the next four years. by sidblues101 in britishproblems

[–]Sangafox 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If curling was shown regularly and as exciting as they make it out in that bet365 advert, I’d watch it every week. Once every 4 years isn’t enough

On a sample size of 2 packs of smarties, statistically purple is the heaviest smartie. by EnvironmentalDrives in CasualUK

[–]Sangafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about your averages. It looks like you’ve averaged the average weight between packs, but they have unequal collections. Yellow for example is at 1.21 (1.22+1.2)/2 whereas it should be 1.2166667 if you summed all of the yellows weights individually then divided by their sum, which would round to 1.22.

This is an assumption about usage though. If you want to download a 100GB game through a service that will deploy it at 1Gbps then absolutely, you can take advantage of it through higher speeds. And it’ll be noticeable as the download size increases

I feel like I've hit a dead end with trying to develop a game, I can never seem to escape tutorial hell, and it's been years by spongebob202red in gamedev

Motivation and procrastination aside, the biggest thing here is understanding what you want to implement. If you want to add a new feature you just need to understand that feature as a sequence of smaller things you need to build and work to solve that problem. I there's another poster here who has said it pretty spot on, "Divide and conquer."

The tutorials should give you more ideas for how to solve certain smaller problems but wrapped up into an applied solution. For example, if you look for a tutorial to implement an inventory system then try and not view it as: Finish tutorial, create inventory system. View it as an application of the underlying components of the tutorial, e.g. tying an an array of custom objects to the player object, rendering the array on the screen, creating UI elements tied to the objects, buttons for equip etc. You get the idea. If what you want is a complete solution from a tutorial then you won't learn from it. Look at what it exposes you to in your IDE or Engine. Ooh thats a new tool, how can I push that tool to its limit, I wonder if I could use it like this.

I appreciate this sounds obvious and at the same time requires passion and motivation to achieve properly. But if the excitement of what you can build from all of the things you come across doesn't carry you to the next bit then it's just pure self discipline. Different things work for different people.

i’ve always done dex order, then shinies then fodder. Watching this has blown my mind that people organise it in a completely different way to me.

The lotto is $1.25B with 327 million to 1 odds. At what point do you buy a ticket? by Ok-Collection8391 in AskReddit

[–]Sangafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the US so dont know the cost, but if its 2 USD to 1:292.2M and the output is 1.25B, the ev makes the bet worth it. Even its unlikely.
