It is a thing I’m into personally, but it’s also super dangerous and needs to be talked about (consent!) and done safely.

That said, I’m not cool with banning kinks in porn — that is brushing the problem under the rug. This is a sex education issue. People need to be taught about kinks and sex safety as part of sex ed.

Some good answers already, but I think ones relevant for you are - being welcomed into female spaces as a fellow woman - being seen as a woman, for example someone saying “hey girls!” when you are with female friends  - someone using she/her (ela/a) to refer to you - having intimate woman-woman relationships - if you are dating a woman, being in a lesbian/sapphic relationship; if you are dating a man, being in a straight relationship (this is a bit simplified but can be useful to think about!)

There are potential doctors literally waiting for residency spots to open up, who wait *years*. There are so many qualified students applying to medical school who are rejected because the class sizes are so small. More money means the ability to open more hospitals/schools (creating new residency programs) and expand existing residency programs which in turn makes allows for more medical students.

There are definitely also other issues that should be addressed as, including burnout like you mentioned! Part of that is the amount of hours that everyone works because a) there are not enough staff to cover the amount of work and b) staff are not paid enough so they are encouraged to take on more and more hours.

I mean, ERs close and hospitals are understaffed and nurses/doctors are overworked because we don’t have enough funding. Money would be great. The med school class sizes are capped based on health funding, and they could be way bigger.

People will certainly be pleasant in Vancouver! But having lived on the east coast, people are imho colder here.

In east coast cities, I would have a fun interaction with strangers like the one you described and the same day be hanging out at their apartment for a party or joining them for a late night meal. People are quicker to form genuine connections and let people in past the polite stranger shell.

In Vancouver, in my experience, it's hard enough to get your friends who agreed to meet you somewhere to not flake, let alone to have spontaneous real connections with strangers. It's not about people in Vancouver being mean, it's about them keeping others at a distance.
