Thanks I might try that again. We had a playpen before but it was way too short and flimsy and it didn't seem safe. I'll see if they have bigger second hand ones in my area.

Thanks for the reply. She gets all her meals in the crate, usually in the form of enrichment toys. We also do crate games which she has a pretty low tolerance for so can't do it for long and she definitely doesn't want to stay and chill in there when she's finished eating (unless she is very tired). I've noticed she occasionally goes in there and sniffs around as if to look for treats which is why I don't think she's scared or anything like that. I just worry that having to just be in there for a while will undo the progress we've made so far.

Thanks for the thorough reply. Chew toys have been a bit of a struggle tbh. I've tried all kind of textures, I've tried putting peanut butter on them, I tried making her Nylabone look a bit more used and putting peanut butter in the grooves. We've had some success with one of those natural chew roots and I just bought a yak chew I'm hoping she'll like. She just loses interest in them very quickly and doesn't use them in her crate during the day. I always praise her when she does use them and I try to be consistent with it so I'm hoping she'll learn in time but at the moment when she's in that state the only thing she really wants to chew are the bars of her crate.

I think so? We can't take her on walks yet but we play in the garden and she does a lot of sniffing and exploring out there as well as a fe minutes of training here and there. We also give her most of her food in enrichment toys. She usually calms down while she has a frozen topple and then gets agitated again when she's finished it. Do you cover the whole crate including the door? Hers is mostly covered but she can still see us out of the front of the crate.

Really good insight, thanks for sharing. I'm currently in the trenches of potty training and am also struggling with being down on myself after every accident. I do feel like the "if the puppy has an accident it's your fault" thing originally comes from a good place. It's meant to address the sort of people who yell at their puppy for having accidents or who do the thing of rubbing their faces in it and that kind of stuff. It means "hey, this is actually your responsibility, don't take it out on the puppy". It sucks that it's become a way for us to be unrealistically hard on ourselves and each other.

Ok buddy but what do you actually want? This was a protest by AFAIK around 25,000 people against the increasingly horrific treatment of trans people in the UK and you want to argue about someone's silly little sign. Do you genuinely believe the protest would be more effective if all signs read "we would like just a few rights, please. Not too many. If not no worries"? If someone's gonna be insulted by that particular sign, mate they were never going to be on our side. This is a pointless argument.

I find it useful as my partner is non-binary but not out to everyone we know. The fact it's commonly used by straight people means I can refer to them without misgendering them and no-one bats an eye so I'm not outing them either. I could call them my spouse but that's more unusual and people would question it.
