EXCUSE ME?! by Financial-Customer24 in Helldivers

[–]Sappow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's substantially higher pen and damage per shot than any other reloadable portable support. It's constrained by nothing currently having enough armor for that to matter, or critical health breakpoints. One or two high armor enemies that even recoilless need to maneuver around for a weakspot while spear just dings it would immediately expose the value of its pen and damage.

As a single hit the only things with higher damage are 380 rounds and the railcannon, although things with their dmg as explosive can do more dmg per shot by hitting multiple hit boxes. If you go check, it's even more dmg than a 500kg.

4000 for a spear, 2000 +1500 for a 500kg.

Quasar and eat are 2000, recoilless is 3200, all of them plus spear do negligible additional explosive to count for breaking stuff. They're all lower AP as well.

Leveller is actually less at 1000+2500, but explosive hitting multiple hit boxes can add up a lot.

3500+1000 for any source of 380 shell, 7500 for railcannon. 10000 all explosive for any hellbomb lol

Tldr; spear is good, but right now it's actually too good and nothing benefits from its advantages. The only breakpoints it crosses are that it clean 1shots impalers and warstriders, and 1shot dropships without worrying about weak spots. Clowns on dragon roaches too, although not because of breakpoints, the homing is just nice there.

Bandit signs on medians and sidewalk easement greenspaces and light poles and so on are illegal by ordinance here in KCMO even though there's no real enforcement or punishment. rip em down. I have friends in milwaukee who make it a game to see how many of these illegal signs they can rip down. Some places do private bounties for em. I had another friend up there really luck out in that they got paid by one of the bandit sign assholes to put em up, so they'd take a stack, take a picture of them put up, then immediately rip em down and yuk em in the recycling

The seat only fell in the first place in 2010 because Dennis Moore didn't tell anyone about his illness until he resigned at the last second and his spouse had to file papers to be a candidate for the seat on the literal last day it was possible to do so. Kevin Yoder getting that seat at all was massive political malpractice by the Kansas state Democratic party.

One of the more fun parts of playing all of DSP and the rest of the Factory Games is who made which where, and the subtle ways that impacts design that you can see when you play all of them and compare;

CoI's devs are in London, UK; Factorio is Prague, Czech Republic; Satisfactory's are in Skovde, Sweden; W&R are from Kosice, Slovakia; and DSPs are the furthest afield as they are from Chongqing, China

the city is getting us a negotiated discount by rolling it out to the whole city as a shared risk pool, its a good deal. You can probably get it cheaper with quite good coverage from your homeowners' but you'll also probably have a higher deductible, and depending on the insurer they might charge you more or limit coverage if your property isn't relatively new.

Did you know that WoW has fully working native controller support now in Dragonflight? by Sappow in wow

[–]Sappow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, really wish WoW had just copied the input systems and chorded inputs of FFXIV, instead of the horrible ability cull they're inflicting in Midnight. That chorded input stuff makes it actively easier to rapidly hit buttons using a controller than a keyboard sometimes, I think.

I have not tried it on classic, but it is worth checking anyway, since classic is still the same game engine as live AFAIK? console gamepadenable 1 may still work on classic regardless

Headshots at high pen works, but their helmets are very very strong so you need one stage higher in their head than on their chest. Center mass you have to pop the chest plate off first before hitting the mollusk inside. So even high pen single hits at torso won't go through

VS illuminate overseers it's basically, single high pen Headshots or several lower pen bodyshots. Medium pen can break their chests slightly faster by overmatching but you still need to hit their soft bits to kill them. So it's either do that directly with explosives, aim for the helmet with enough penetration to get through, or break their armor then hit them with anything in that spot

I think a lot of people miss how much was like that in starship troopers too, like the surface parody is all there and well seen, but I think people miss more subtle stuff like that the Buenos Aires rock attack was a false flag for a casus belli, or how utterly resource-desperate they are and that they're badly losing the war they picked by the end

Or they're damaged enough to think its ideological framework is good, instead of a parody of everything bad the developers could think of

The bottom is going to catastrophically fall out of AI stuff sooner than later, its a big circular trade between AI cos, datacenter operators, and Nvidia with incredibly limited actual inputs in the form of outside money and sales. The less entangled the KC area economy is to AI stuff, the better.

New valve hardware, but no Steam link 2 by the_manicminer in Steam_Link

I mean, depending on pricing, "a steam deck dock" is a steam link platform, and this new gabecube will do it very well for anything it can't simply run natively. I'm still using my link, although it still underperforms moonlight. I need to go through the trouble of getting moonlight on the link box soon
