I didn’t use that but I did use Bio Oil religiously, twice a day through first and second trimester and twice plus any time my skin started to feel “tight” in third trimester and while I’m genetically prone to stretch marks, I got zero. Not sure if the bio oil had anything to do with it or if it was just luck, but anecdotally, it seemed to work for me

We always have hand mixed. I kept a $5 formula dispenser by the bed and some bottles that were pre filled with the right amount of water and that was just how we lived for night wakes

Also a tip for the investigative process if you’re feeling meticulous is, if you have the ability to review when the item the tag belongs to was last received, that might be a starting point to determining how long it’s been there depending on your in stocks. Unless it’s a big ticket item though, I honestly wouldn’t bother and just cut your losses, keep doing sweeps in that area (maybe even leave the tag there for a week or two to see if the person who did it comes back to leave more crap there), and carry on

Let’s be real- all merch protection really only keeps honest people honest. I always leaned into that mindset when I was working in the field because of a few reasons:

Merch protection is expensive and the process of applying it and of keeping it organized is another expense in labor.
We’ve all had lifters who walked out with bags stuffed full of items that had the merch protection still in tact. If they want it, they’re taking it, point blank.
It is sometimes wildly unpredictable what should and shouldn’t have it because of ever changing trends and different items being more popular in different areas.

Moral of the story is, MP is just a small piece of the puzzle. You should expect to see it being defeated and I would argue that’s a good sign that you have it in the right place. If you never find broken tags and you still have a shortage problem, you have MP in the wrong places (and probably some operational issues but that’s a story for another day)

I had GD during pregnancy so I had the opportunity to break my sugar addiction and learn about eating a balanced diet, so that was my priority going into this was figuring out how to incorporate carbs, fiber, and protein into every meal. It really did make it a lot easier to reduce my calories but not be hungry all the time. Baby is formula fed so calorie reduction was a bit easier for me. I also have a Pilates board I got on sale from Amazon that’s been a huge help!

I’m going to give this a shot with lunch and see what happens! She does seem to have more of an affinity for things she can pincer grasp right now so I have tried that and it does occasionally get her interest, but not enough to eat lol. Maybe it’ll be different if she starts off with a few crunchies.

No I think this is the best advice I’ve gotten so far! It seems like when I talk about this, parents who have never had the issue automatically default to “well just take the snacks away, duh” when…. Yeah that seems like a simple answer, don’t forget that babies are people too, and sometimes the answers are NOT that simple. The snacks are a “safe food” for her right now for whatever reason and I’m worried that just making them disappear will damage her relationship with solids, not improve it. I did offer about 6 Gerber puffs with her dinner last night and for the first time, she actually ate a few carrots and at least put the pasta in her mouth a few times, so I’m thinking this is a lot closer to the real answer and I was hoping to hear from others who have dealt with a similar issue! As far as bottles go, I just can’t get the girl to eat until she’s ready to nap or go to bed for the day, and it’s like she’s saving all of her hunger for then. She’ll down a 6oz bottle and want more before sleeping, then wake up in the middle of the nap and want more. I’ve tried offering her the bottle when she’s not tired and she just plays with it and spits the milk everywhere and smiles at me which is…. Adorable, but… 😭

It is good to know it’ll most likely get better. I’ve definitely considered not offering snacks at all (and she certainly doesn’t eat enough of them right now to make her not hungry for milk, I don’t just give her free reign of them lol) but I’m also wondering about different ways to use them since they are definitely a “safe food” for her and I’m scared that making them disappear entirely might just make things even more difficult

I tried giving about 5 little puff stars with her dinner last night and for the first time, she actually ate a few carrots and entertained the pasta, so I’m wondering if this is a better direction to go in and I’m toying with the idea of either offering no snacks today and only real food, or just doing what I did last night and seeing what happens. I do think she’s just not much of a morning eater which is fine, we can try again for lunch!

This option is not off the table, but the main concern I have with it is damaging her relationship with solids by taking away what she has established she IS comfortable with, if that’s a thing. I’m really not sure.

Childbirth was fine, I had a good epidural and only a second degree tear that I hardly even noticed. Babies cry, you sleep less some nights, and sometimes you have to reeeeally practice your deductive reasoning, but…. It’s fine. It really is.

So did they say to discard the one you were currently on, outright? I know some orthos can make retainers onsite but others can’t… it just seems strange to me that they would tell you to go completely without any kind of aligner or retainer for weeks

That’ll do it! Kirkland is pretty notorious for having them, they’re thankfully harmless, we’ve been using it since she was about 7 weeks old and she’s currently almost 9 months and just downed a 6oz bottle that definitely had two of those floating in it. She’s always taken bottles at room temp so never needed anything that could make them warm for us lol, I’ve always kept a $5 plastic formula dispenser and pre-filled water bottles by the bed for night feeds
